As far as I am concern there is no longer a need for a LDS Caucus thread.

One thing would be nice is if those who opposed the LDS would clarify their thread title(Anti LDS) So other posters are not confused and blame the LDS for all those non-descript Open threads

This is something I have discovered by reading many post on FR many see those titles and think the LDS is the one posting those threads.

I also think as an LDS when reading the title Joseph Smith: An Apostle of Jesus Christ it would not register in our minds the way others would perceived it.

Someone could have fleepmail PD and tell him that title would be to offensive to others it needs to be tone down.

Then again maybe it would be best not to have a Religion Forum and just unite on the Godly principles that unites us as a people to keep the constitution strong.

IMHO

Resty, since it appears from posting history that you post more of the LDS caucus threads, what is you intention in posting them? Would you be satisfied if the 'caucus' designation was a hidden header type of thread, where the actual article and title would not appear except to those in the caucus who click on the 'Mormon' or 'LDS' Caucus link? ... Kind of the way our ping pages now have none of the article or post text, just the to and from info?

There are many who feel that way.

They ignore the caucus LDS threads.

If you feel they are not needed, then you can not post to them.

I think that should be up to those that post the threads.

I would prefer (Mainstream Historical Jesus Truth Thread.)

IMO FR posters are smart enough to discern between posts by Christian posters vs Mormon posters.

I also think as an LDS when reading the title Joseph Smith: An Apostle of Jesus Christ it would not register in our minds the way others would perceived it.

Of course it wouldn't. That's part of the problem.

Christians would see it as saying that Smith is an Apostle of the historical Biblical Jesus Christ, and for Mormons it would register however LDS see it

Perhaps you could respond to my post #872 to you the other day.

Many of us would like to know how Mormons feel about the official writings of the LDS belief system in the areas sited in that post.

It would clear up many of the misunderstandings.

Thank you.

Why would we do that? We post directly from LDS sources, with the LDS links. Do you REALLY advocate a thread that is titled, "This is belief direct from LDS sources, it's just posted by someone who thinks it is a bunch of hooey"? IMO that would probably garner MORE readers, LOL. It sounds to me like you are just trying to convince the powers that be to totally change forum rules to suit mormons, OR to DELETE the RF entirely to suit your wishes.

I also think as an LDS when reading the title Joseph Smith: An Apostle of Jesus Christ it would not register in our minds the way others would perceived it.

Perception of material written by and for mormons is no concern of mormons or mormon leaders. The superior attitude that has carried down from Joseph Smith's time dictates that mormons are justified in going about the world claiming a "Great Apostasy" and "Restoration of Jesus' Gospel" and "We are the ONLY true church". Nothing has changed that would suggest perception by Christians is a factor.

Someone could have fleepmail PD and tell him that title would be to offensive to others it needs to be tone

WHAT? Are you suggesting that the mods have time to edit individual threads and make gentle suggestions to posters that they might offend someone, so they should "tone it down"? Restornu, if you are looking for a forum where mormons are gonna get all this "special" treatment, I suggest you start one. Better yet, stick with the hundreds of mormon sites where everyone is on the same non-Christian page.

Then again maybe it would be best not to have a Religion Forum....your way or the highway, huh?

Then again maybe it would be best for those who can't handle an open forum just to move along to some protected place.

IMHO
