I am familiar with the thread, and this particular sequence. And my other comments; your response wasn’t to my previous comment about the purpose of caucus threads, so it wasn’t at all clear that your ridicule comment would be related to mine.
And relating it to my original post still doesn’t explain why you claimed that this thread was de-caucused because it ridiculed other beliefs. To the degree you might find beliefs ridiculed in this thread, it is because the thread was de-caucused, not the other way around. Cause and effect.

I was recently reading of a fellow who infiltrated Mormonism in order to report on the realities from with in ....have to go back and finish that, though I’m not sure where it is now? Ha!
It is very interesting though, reading the stories from those who left Momonism. Haven’t seen one yet that wasn’t a good read.

I didn’t particularly care about the de-caucusing of this thread. I found reason to respond to a few posts in the thread, and since it wasn’t a caucus thread, I did so.
Yes, this thread got a lot more posts than it ever would have if it had remained a caucus thread. Which means a lot more people may have read the thread — which certainly isn’t something I thought would be a good thing.
I don’t particularly think de-caucusing was a good thing. It could have languished in obscurity as all the other threads; if the title was deemed offensive, it could have been edited, and if the thread was offensive, it could have been deleted.
Which leads me to believe that all involved are happy with this thread’s progress, although it seems odd that the response to a thread with a blasphemous title was to make it the most popular thread of the new year.
The funny thing is that, until people realised who bumped this to breaking news, they were upset that the original poster had made it breaking news, and thought it was getting way too much attention.

You can't call on your local "Mormon Bishopric." (which....by the way...'bishopric' is a made up secular word) to hurt me. You cannot harm my wife, or my business.
I have been reading Ravi Zacharias lately. In one book of his, he talks about God being the Grand Weaver in our lives. I have learned a lot from this. All of my failures and disappointments are part of God's plan for me, as well as the much of the success I have had by His plan.

Also there's a huge difference between the debates with catholics and those with Mormons. Besides Protestants and others get their fair share of bashing as well...so you're barking up the wrong tree there.
As for you wanting to see a more “charitable application” on the threads...FR offers other options for the softer side of discussion. It;s a choice to post or not...or for that matter scan by what one isn't interested in. We all do so at our choosing.....
Concerning those who oppose Mormonism's teachings....when Jesus cleansed the temple he used a whip....Christians can and will speak strongly against false teachings, especially when these are used to deceive and trap the unsuspecting....and further discredit our savior. He's our King...we are loyal to Him.
