Since the ELCA intends to make it more difficult to leave the ELCA, every congregation who is contemplating leaving the ELCA should take action before the next CWA. And if it is apparent that the majority wants to leave, they should consider joining LCMC, NALC, etc.

Joining another church body only requires a majority vote, and there isn’t a requirement to actually leave the ELCA first.

This is certainly a “Plan B” for congregations intent on leavinng the ELCA but which fail to reach the 2/3 majority of voting members present threshold for disassociation votes.

Only a simple majority is required to affiliate with the LCMC.

When and where will the next CWA be held? I hope that the pro-gay resolutions will be repealed, but that probably wont’ happen.
