Mark instead of throwing around insults at God .why not address the issues.. What tells me I am saved? Several things.. The word of God (God does not lie ), Jesus paid for all my sin, past present AND FUTURE , the witness of the Holy Spirit, a changed life.. a clear conscience, perseverance ..a desire to seek God in all things, a hatred of sin ... I desire only to please God and not men, a love of Gods word
1Jo 5:9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.
1Jo 5:10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
1Jo 5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
1Jo 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; [and] he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
1Jo 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
The Parable very clearly shows the necessity of accepting the love of Christ. If one does not accept Christ and His offer of eternal salvation, why then, one does not get it. Those who prate about OSAS or the writing in the book of Life (against Scripture, by the way) as meaning assurance of salvation, remember this: the Prodigal Son had it all and he was saved at that point, but he chose to throw it away. If he had not come back, then, pfft, his salvation also went away and would not have come back.
