The idea of a divine Messiah never existed in Judaism, and even the very idea of a messiah does not come until after the post-exilic period, not during the major prophets. It wasn't because God never told them. Pretty early on, as a matter of fact.
Genesis 3:15 - And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.

It wasn't because God never told them. Pretty early on, as a matter of fact. Genesis 3:15 It takes a lot of convoluted mind twisting to get a messiah out of that verse, imo.
