I thought you said you didn't believe in God. Or was it that you didn't believe God was knowable? I forget, which is it? The point is I understand that no matter what my answer is to your question, you will probably find something with which to disagree and we will carry on with more post after post. I'd rather not spend my time being a virtual cat toy.
I never said that. I said I didn't know what God is. I can't believe in something unless I know what it is.
Or was it that you didn't believe God was knowable?
If there is God, then he will also be unknowable to a large extent. What can I say, my former Orthodox mindset is still operating. :)

That's because it sounds like just want to give me a "shut up" answer, rather than defend your position. I asked you a simple question "So, God is not in charge?"
That's no different than saying "how many states are part of the Union?" If you know the answer it is a straight answer, and if you really know what you are talking about rather than just making up things as you go along, then you should rest assured that I won't have a followup question, since 50 states is 50 states, and there is nothing else. End of discussion. I could ask what about Virgin Islands or Puerto Rico, which also has a straight and definitive answer.
But for people who claim to be certain, and know what they believe in, the answers I get paint a different picture.
