You use the term liar, I just said he took that label himself and it was not what Christ's word for him was.
I have no desire to split hairs and get into a religious flame war. I posited a question and found the answer in Christs own words. That satisfied my question. I consider it the end of my participation in this debate.
What happened after Christ stated what Paul was to do and what he was called after that in the early church was not part of my inquiry..
But even Peter put forth what makes an apostle when lots were thrown and Matthias took Judas place as an apostle..Paul did not meet even Peter's criteria of what it takes to be an apostle...
What was done after that is not part of my inquiry. You all can call Paul whatever you want, I don't care. I have my answer..using scripture as my guide...with Christ and Peters own words...
The author of Acts refers to Paul as an apostle, and as the book of Acts is considered scripture, the book is inspired and given by God. If you choose not to believe God, then how will you ever believe anyone else?
If he was not called to be an apostle by Christ it was a LIE..one who lies is a LIAR
But even Peter put forth what makes an apostle when lots were thrown and Matthias took Judas place as an apostle..Paul did not meet even Peter's criteria of what it takes to be an apostle...
Yea pick a successor by gambling..thats the ticket..
Can you show me in scripture where Jesus gave any of the apostles the authority or the right to usurp HIS authority and pass on the gifts given to the apostles He selected? Hint..He never did
..They had no right to select a replacement for Judas. Christ knew that Judas would betray Him ..He knew Judas would kill himself..SOOOOOOO IF Jesus wanted THEM to select a man to be the replacement for Judas, He would have told them that and how to do it..
I think the fact that we never hear of Matthias again in the NT speaks volumes . Whereas the man selected BY CHRIST is the primary catechist of the new church and a primary author of the NT
Peter, James and John considered Paul an apostle,Acts calls him an apostle and Peter called Pauls epistles scripture ...but you must have information that the apostles did not huh?
Not at that point in time.
You do have to at least be a believer to qualify.
What it shows the most is that the disciples were not in touch with what God had in mind. If Peter was the first pope, as Catholics claim, he blew his first decision big time.
