Accoridng to the koine Greek language used to wriote the New Testament the word for sacrifice and victim is one and the same. Look up the word thusia (θυσια).

So...what is the opinion on what Jesus read from when he went into the synagogues? Something tells me they probably used Hebrew scriptures and not Greek. For example:

15 And He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all. 16 So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up.
