In Christ Alone lyrics
Songwriters: Getty, Julian Keith; Townend, Stuart Richard;
In Christ alone my hope is found He is my light, my strength, my song This Cornerstone, this solid ground Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace When fears are stilled, when strivings cease My Comforter, my All in All Here in the love of Christ I stand
In Christ alone, who took on flesh Fullness of God in helpless Babe This gift of love and righteousness Scorned by the ones He came to save
?Til on that cross as Jesus died The wrath of God was satisfied For every sin on Him was laid Here in the death of Christ I live, I live
There in the ground His body lay Light of the world by darkness slain Then bursting forth in glorious Day Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory Sin?s curse has lost its grip on me For I am His and He is mine Bought with the precious blood of Christ
“The only ones who fell for it are the Greek Archdiocese, the Antiochan Archdiocese and the Orthodox Church of America.”
A few of our Greek dog collar wearing, anything to pass for white priests and theology school teachers and a few, if not all, of the metropolitans have. The Laity don’t buy it and neither do the monastics nor majority of the younger priests. What you see, at least among the Greeks who tout this “Study Bible”, are the remnants of the Iakovitan “we can all be Episcopalians with Greeks accents” crowd. Their days are done, just like their delusion that Hellenic College, barely a voc-tech school for kindergarten teachers, would become the “Little Harvard”! As for the Antiochians and the OCA, well, their situations are well known and don’t need a Greek like me to publicize their problems.
“I believe their prelates were duped into endorsing without even seeing this “bible.” As I said, an Evangelical Trojan Horse which will go down in history as another embarrassment for North American Orthodox economists.”
Absolutely true, in my opinion.
I find it interesting that "Abi" is really 'eli which means any god, even an angel. Abi or Abiy means a father and Abiy Gibbon is the father of Gibbon, somehting that is related to the tabernacle.
> “Would MARY’s accusing Jesus of insanity be a sin?
.
Mary never denied her sinful condition, and declared Christ her God and savior.
No member of the body of Christ would ever assert that Mary or any other human was without sin. Such a belief would negate belief in Christ as he declared himself, thus precluding salvation.
Put yer glasses back on, it’s “GIBBOR” not Gibbon and means ‘mighty’ one.
Actually one could look at it as blaspheming the Holy Spirit..
. Mary never denied her sinful condition, and declared Christ her God and savior.

Clearly! The Mary of the bible is hardly the demi-goddess, sinless, queen of heaven, co-redemptrix portrayed by Rome. Hopefully the God of all Grace has somehow shielded her from witnessing the blasphemies done with her name.
Belt-””What of that named by the LORD as quoted by Hosea is not part of His creation? Yet, God hates, pitilessly (His words, not mine) hates, some of what He has created””
This is metaphorical figurative language or God is dualistic and changes back and forth because it is completely at odds with Wisdom 11:25 and Malachy 3:6
For thou lovest all things that are, and hatest none of the things which thou hast made: for thou didst not appoint, or make any thing hating it.- Wisdom 11:25
For I am the Lord, and I change not-Malachi 3:6
Belt-””Jesus Christ bore the full weight of His Fathers wrath””
In other words.. the Angry person of the Trinity according to you
A conclusion that should send papists back to the Bible to know the truth. This life on earth doesn't last forever.
Well, no less than four incomplete, and substantially contradictory, versions are in existence.
Where they came from no one knows. Basing Old Testament Scripture on any "version" of the Septuagint is suspect.
I defer to the Jews for correct O.T. Scripture.
ROMANS 3:
1 Then what advantage has the Jew? Or what is the value of circumcision?
2* Much in every way. To begin with, the Jews are entrusted with the oracles of God.
It seems the Greeks have an advantage only in the Catholic version.
> For thou lovest all things that are, and hatest none of the things which thou hast made: for thou didst not appoint, or make any thing hating it.- Wisdom 11:25
.
Obviously, “Wisdom” is not wisdom, but the gross error of falible men. (thinking themselves wise they became ___?)
.
“”You have talking points. I have Scripture. You have Thomas Aquinas and centuries of magisterially endorsed wishful thinking. I have the clear and plain words of Jesus””
You have modern thinking and old heresies already condemned through the ages and the scripture is how you interpret it that is not consistent with historical Christianity, thus you have no unity. It’s called “believe whatever I want because I know better than the Saints and Early Christians”
I see no reason continuing this discussion
No person knows what the Septuagint is because there is no such thing as a pure, unadulterated, Septuagint.
What Greek version of the Old Testament did the Apostles use?
The Septuagint was translated by Greek-speaking Jews, supposedly rabbis, and supposedly under inspiration, just like the Hebrew scriptures. Again, it was good enough for the Apostles.
The key word is "supposedly". Legend is legend. Fact is fact. "Fact" is absent.
So, stfassisi, you are going to set one verse of the deuterocanonical Wisdom against all the clear verses from the OT and NT books that all of Christendom agrees are canonical? It is also a verse that goes on to explain itself, saying that God didn’t create anything in order to hate it.
“The angry person of the Trinity”? ... of whom Jesus said in the IMMEDIATE CONTEXT FROM WHICH I WAS QUOTING, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Simply breath taking!
Why is it that you seem quite content to let God’s word contradict itself in order to uphold the teaching of your church? My church right or wrong, is that what it is? I can see no other explanation.
If you want to stand before God and contradict Him, that is your business.

For once I completely agree with you.
Simply breath taking!
Rom 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Rom 3:11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
Rom 3:12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Mar 10:18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? [there is] none good but one, [that is], God.
There is no one that has perfect love, that died on the cross
Satan loves to redefine what God created for his purposes.. thus satan teaches that love replaces the blood of Christ.. it is indeed breath taking
What’s really breathtaking is that you seem to believe that Christ was crucified to satisfy the angry Father.
I believe it was an act of love form God who did not owe us anything and your view seems to be that Christ had to be crucified because we are owed Salvation.
It was a gift of Love beyond our comprehension
