Saundra Duffy,
I quoted your leader. Can’t have it both ways.

Can you disagree with your Chief Prophet and still
be a mormon? Can you disagree with you Bishop and
still get a Temple Recommend?

If you are not allowed to disagree and stay a mormon
in good standing, then I was 100% correct and you
shaded the truth in your post.

Which is it?

Can you disagree with the prophet or not?
Educate me.

Ping to Color Country to keep you honest Saundra ...

The temple recommend interview does not include any questions about agreeing or disagreeing with the leaders of the LDS Church.

We are expected to sustain the leaders of the church. That means we give them our loyalty and support, acknowledging their authority to act in the church, even when we may disagree with them.

For example, I know a number of active Latter-day Saints who opposed California's Proposition 8 and believe the LDS Church was wrong to support it. Nevertheless, they remain members in good standing.

Are you kidding? Be honest? On my very first posts about Mormonism on this site, a was castigated, and told that since I didn’t toe the ‘official’ mark, I wasn’t truly Mormon.

It didn’t matter to these judaizers that I was born into the religion and five generations of my family proceeded me, or that my name was still on the official roll.

I remember one very nasty ‘lady’ loudly proclaiming that I wasn’t Mormon at all as long as I went against the official party line.
