Speaking of speaking in tongues - when I was a Baptist I was told that speaking in tongues is of the devil. On the other hand, when I was a Pentecostal I was told that speaking in tongues is a manifestation of the Holy Ghost.

I think this thread stinks to High Heaven. Don't you anti Mormons ever tire of repeating the same lies about my faith over and over and over?

It is so boring but the sad thing is that ignorant people who don't know any better believe what the anti Mormons are posting. I used to believe it, too, before I opened my mind to the possibility that what I was told was not true.

As I have stated before, I was a Christian missionary with YWAM (Youth with a Mission) - even “served a mission” in Central America for 18 months. During that time I began to question the evangelical/pentecostal ways regarding healing and “serving the Lord.” I found that the Christians in Belize were better Christians than the YWAMers (including ME!!), yet we were sent there “to save the lost souls.” Barf! I learned more from the Belizean Christians than I could ever hope to learn in YWAM. Anyhow, the last straw was when I asked one of the outreach teams to help with our vacation Bible school in the village of Roaring Creek. The leader said “We will pray about it.” I was SHOCKED!! What's to pray about? Next day, wouldn't you know - she said, “God said ‘no.’” I was horrified and told her there's no way God would have said “no” to the needy children of Belize. Whatever! The VBS had about ONE HUNDRED children and me and the Belizean women were small in numbers but mighty in the Gospel. The VBS was a tremendous success and I will never forget the blessing!!

Like I said, that was the last straw but even before that I was questioning the silliness around me - the contradictions, the power trips, the stupid decisions that we dumb YWAMers had to stomach. You weren't supposed to complain about anything: “Touch not mine anointed.”

When I heard the Restored Gospel and experienced a confirmation by the Holy Ghost, I found the Truth. Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ used Joseph Smith to restore the Gospel to the earth in these latter days.

I am no longer tossed about this way and that by false doctrines of man. When I see the LDS Missionaries on their bicycles, my heart is filled with love. I am grateful that they have chosen to sacrifice two years of their lives to serve and love their fellow man.

Amen.

How well goes your efforts to earn your salvation SD? Noticed a lot of the spirit of contention from you lately - is all well. Having to repent over and over again for the same old sins just because you haven't repented of them yet?

It's interesting that these stories are posted with NOTHING to back them up. No sources, no links, no reason to believe them.

That's why we post verifiable, sourced articles and comments...we don't expect anyone to just "take our word" but to search out the TRUTH!

Sandy, you call 'liar' but you never seem to have any evidence of same. And I understand that, because what I post is straight out of the quotes from your leadership.

Oh wait! Perhaps you don't believe the stuff and therefore you consider it not from LDS inc? Stuff like:

----god had to gain the attributes of godhood

---jesus was sired by a heavenly father and heavenly mother, so he had a beginning

---jesus then worked his way to the exalted state of one third of the godhead, one third of the troika of three separate gods working as one in purpose

----jesus had a grandfather god and a great grandfather god, etc

----the god of Mormonism was appointed as the god over the earth, and at that occasion was not yet a one-third of a godhead, but two of his offspring--jesus and holy spirit--were either appointed to the exalted positions of each one third of the godhead or earned it via their obedience to Mormon ordinances

----there can be no salvation without Mormon baptism

----someone who rejects the Savior in this life can have salvation later, if a worthy Mormon is baptized for them in a certified Mormon temple

----god couldn't keep the promise Jesus made, so a peepstone lying false prophet predator of married women had to be recruited at age 14 to restore real christianity to the world

----and last bu by no means least important, you can be saved ... after all you can do to prove yourself worthy by keeping the ten commandments so jesus will apply His atonement for your sin.

Sandy, that last one is a real doozy, because it screams Jesus died on the Cross unnecessarily for perhaps you, or the current head of the Mormon religion, because a few really, really good Mormons will be so good that they achieve exaltation and become gods of other planets in other universes. THAT is denying the Gospel of Jesus Christ and it leads to damnation because it is blasphemous, rejecting the Real Savior Who is God with us, and Whom remains with us in His person of the Holy Spirit in the human spirit of those who humble themselves and accept His Grace in Christ Jesus.

Don't you anti Mormons ever tire of repeating the same lies about my faith over and over and over?

Well if we were actually doing that, yes it would be tiresome...

Ironically I don't know what energizes me more, serving the Lord by defending His faith again the PROVEN lies and heresies of the Latter Day Saints or the fact that the apologist like yourself love to accuse with out any substance in your accusations and no ability to support same.

“the stupid decisions that we dumb YWAMers had to stomach. You weren’t supposed to complain about anything: “Touch not mine anointed.””

1. And then you joined the cult of mormonism where “once the leaders have spoken, the thinking is done!”

Strange. Very strange.

2. So what you are telling us is that you had a problem with people who were fallible, so you joined the cult of mormonism where God is fallible, being a man?

Strange. Very strange.

3. You disagreed with the leaders of YWAM and the Belize church because they were fallible people, then you joined the cult of mormonism, which was started by Joseph Smith, a false prophet, treasure seeker, scammer and world class horndog because it’s true?

Strange. Very strange.

In your post, you come off as a very confused and inconsistent person who is in a cult...

What lies Sandy? This thread is very accurate and we care about telling the truth about Mormonism, something the LDS DON’T do. C’mon Sandy, give us some of these ‘lies’.

It amazes me that you expect God to answer only YOUR prayers and that you cannot seem to fathom that God said ‘no’. Oh ye of little faith.

All mormonism is is the tossing to and fro by false doctrine. YWAM has issues but nothing like Mormonism does. And just because you ‘served a mission’ for YWAM doesn’t mean you were a Christian then, nor does it mean you are one now. All it shows is that you apparently did not pay attention since you are LDS and thus apparently still trying to earn your salvation.

xperienced a confirmation by the Holy Ghost

- - - - —
how do you KNOW it was the Holy Ghost and not a demon??

The Holy Ghost has testified the falseness of the LDS gospel to me. One of us is being lied to and I guarantee it isn’t me because MY faith aligns with the Bible, the LDS doesn’t.

You wrote: "What's to pray about?"

Oh ye of little faith...

Read Luke 18

Luke 18

The Parable of the Persistent Widow

1Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. 2He said: "In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men. 3And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, 'Grant me justice against my adversary.'

4"For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, 'Even though I don't fear God or care about men, 5yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won't eventually wear me out with her coming!'"

6And the Lord said, "Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?"
