Art Vanick on Glenn Beck and Mormonism
Out of Mormonism ^

Posted on 10/04/2010 12:57:36 PM PDT by Amerisrael

Art Vanick, co-author of The Spalding Enigma, Who Really Wrote The Book of Mormon, makes an appearance on Out of Mormonism to address the Glenn Beck Restoring Honor Rally.

Andy, Art, and Roger discuss the ramifications of the rally from a biblical Christian perspective.

Do Christians understand that Mormonism is different than biblical Christianity?

[ These are two separate "Out of Mormonism" radio podcasts from Mesa, Arizona. Very interesting.]

While Mormonism may not pose the violent / stealth and political threat that Islam does, from a spiritual standpoint, it is just as dangerous.

Do I really need a sarc?

Interesting...but what needs to be known is how does Islam look at Mormonism? and this from the positions of the Islamic leadership which are moving their agenda across our nation.

We know how our nation grass roots look at matters of faith and politics....has it really moved our leadership according to the peoples will? Nope.

So rather than looking at the cutsey biking brigades, you might look at the leadership of LDS and see who they are snuggling up to, because whatever they determine is how the masses under them will move...be it screaming and crying they will follow just the same.

Out of Mormonism? /eyeroll

Undecided readers,

If you peruse the Free Republic religion forums you will notice a pattern. There’s an anti-Mormon group of people here that spends a great deal of their time attacking the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They post regurgitated propaganda on an almost daily basis.

They have a misguided obsession. You can witness many different tactics employed that you might find quite interesting. The straw man argument is a big favorite and is frequently preceded by cherry-picking quotes or other material. After the “quotation” the attacker will misrepresent what has been said or what was meant and then attack their own interpretation. You’ll likely see perfect examples of just this shortly after I post.

Sometimes they cruise the headlines of the day seeking any story that might be twisted into making the Church look bad. Anything will do, just watch the progression of posts following it and see what I mean.

After reading their posts, I invite you to seek the truth about whatever “issue” they seem to be “revealing” or “exposing”. I promise that if you do so with honest intent, the “ahah” moments you will have will be many and frequent. You will start to recognize the tactics employed to cleverly twist and attack and will likely chuckle the more you see. In actuality, there’s nothing new here. It’s all been addressed many times before.

Here’s a few links to get your started from a different viewpoint. I have found that the vast majority of the “issues” brought up can be found and addressed at http://www.fairlds.org/ but here’s more:

http://scriptures.lds.org/
http://www.lds.org
http://www.fairlds.org/
http://www.mormonwiki.com/Main_Page
http://www.lightplanet.com/response/index.html
http://www.jefflindsay.com/LDS_Intro.shtml
http://www.answeringantimormons.com/index.htm
http://promormon.blogspot.com/

Now you will likely notice the “you never address our points” posts pop up as usual. All after providing the answers just as you have here. Will you wear blinders too? Seek truth. Find out for yourself.

“Do I really need a sarc?”

You might when the “Mormon-Haters” show up here!

Let me save them the trouble and do a ‘pre-post’ for many of them.....”I don’t hate Mormons, I hate Mormonism”.

Get ready, ‘cause here they come 10-9-8-7-

They got rid of Bennett in Utah and successfully fought the homosexuals in California

If Mike Lee is half the constitutionalist his father Rex was, he is worthy of conservatives' respect. I guess since Mark Levin is a Joo he isn't afraid of him.

So, how do you categorize an ex-mormon, happily married to a mormon for over 20 years who doesn't mind speaking out against mormonism?

As for Glenn Beck, although I disagree with his religion, he does ok in getting some useful information out there and firing people up.

Probably either a hypocrite or a liar, not quite sure yet.

"Probably either a hypocrite or a liar, not quite sure yet."

So be it.

Do you feel the same about interfaith marriages?

I suppose in your zeal to irritate those you classify as bigots, aren't you yourself demonstrating bigotry because you can't accept the fact that a person could be married to a mormon, yet question the doctrine?

I'm not quite sure yet whether you're a liar, a hypocrite or a bigot.

Well, I'm sure your little mind will come up with something that satisfies your puerile need to justify the fact your argument has no merit.

“The lds god is not The Eternal God the Alpha and Omega.”

No but the LDS God, His Son Jesus Christ, and The Holy Ghost as The Godhead certainly fit the description... moreso than a spiritual being invented by the the intellectual at the behest of Constantine. Where in the New Testament did Jesus give up his body after the resurrection?

Mormons believe in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

Is it your intention now to have this thread a discussion on LDS beliefs?

Sandy, are these three acting as one, or are these three evidences of the Same Being expressing in three different work modes?

I’m glad you brought this up. Got a q for you: If the 3 are the same, then why don’t you guys pray to the Holy Ghost? In my whole life, I have never heard a single person pray to the Holy Ghost. People usually pray the way Jesus taught us: “Our Father who art in Heaven . . .” And here’s another question: Why didn’t Jesus say, “No man comes to Me except by Me”? I am perferctly comfortable in knowing and believing in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. The God Head - one in purpose.

“from a spiritual standpoint, it is just as dangerous. “

Oh, yes, those LDS Missionaries are dangerous monsters, not to mention Glenn Beck. Evil monsters from hell.

Would you please get a brain and a heart?

So let me see if I understand that. You do believe God The Father, God The Holy Spirit, and Gos in Jesus Christ are three but are one in purpose though not one acting in three different roles?
