There’s nothing Mormons “pick and chose” about the Bible. We believe the same general teachings of the Bible as any other Christian faith. In the few portions where there are clearly translation problems, we have latter day scriptures to clarify what was meant in the original Bible. And frankly those things I have found are perfectly in keeping with the intent of the Bible. I could similarly accuse other religions of “picking and chosing” what they follow in the Bible as well. For instance, why no prophets and apostles in our age other than in the LDS faith? Why ignore the obviously separate nature of God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit as displayed during Christ’s baptism or on the Mount of Transfiguration? We may have our doctrinal differences, but that doesn’t mean we ignore wholesale Bible teachings to go about doing wrong. And when you look at the good the LDS Church does in the world, I think you can quite safely use the measuring stick of “by their fruits ye shall know them.”
As for the mall in Salt Lake, why is it so bad for a church to hold investments so it can take care of its members and others throughout the world? Seems rather class warfare-ish to take exception to that.
Translation problems? Bwahahahaha, so how come your false prophet didn’t fix them with his Joseph Smith Translation of the King James Bible into King James English? Did he use his peppestone? And I suppose you stand by the thousands of words and changes Joe made to the Bible, like adding more than eight hundred words at the end og Gensis in order to fabricate a prophecy of his advent ‘in these latter days’? You cultists are ahoot, really!
And lds add, as far as it is translated correctly. The term general is their scape goat.
And they give away a few million here and there...and crow about it?
Do you realize how many million goes into a billion? 1,000 million equal's a billion...just to help you out.
Explain to me...the huge ranches, the malls, the hotels, motels, the outlandish temples, the business's....
EXPLAIN THAT!!!
To answer your Q, all you have to do is to be familiar with the New Testament and know that Christians teach we do have a Living Prophet. (His Name is Jesus Christ)
But, of course, this is a "good example" where the Mormons pick and choose which verses they want to honor from the Bible -- and which they choose to ignore or have the Book of mormon or D&C trump.
Hebrews 1:1-2: 1In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.
Tell us, MissesBush. Just how long have you and other Mormons flunked a quiz on Hebrews 1:1-2 and have had major issues with defining words like "past"??? (And here we have such great irony where the writer of Hebrews uses the term "last days" -- and we have "latter-day" Saints who choose to ignore express Biblical passages about the "last days" and usurp Jesus as the Living Prophet with a mere man who HAS to reside in Salt Lake City!!!)
And just a 'little' bit more...
The BoM 'clarified' the one man/one wife thing found in the Bible; but JS and others CHOSE to ignore it.
Could you 'clearly' post these 'problems'?
Oh?
Then why were they 'needed'?
AMEN, Sister!
Why, we are thinking about sending 600 MORE kits to help HAITI!!

Which Christ do mormons worship?
In the Book of Mormon, Jesus brought death and destruction with him to the Cross. In 3 Nephi, Chapters 8 and 9, it details the events testifying of Christ's crucifixion.
It describes the desolation of the great city of Zarahemla by fire, and the city of Moroni "did sink into the sea and the inhabitants thereof were drowned... the earth was carried up upon the city of Mornihah...there was great and terrible destruction in the land southward......terrible destruction in the land northward....the highways were broken up....many great and noble cities were sunk and many burned and many shaken till the buildings thereof had fallen to the earth.....all these great and terrible things were done in the space of three hours."
Here are links to the Official LdS BoM chapters that detail these events:
3 Nephi, Chapter 9, tells of further wrath as the Lord also destroyed the cities and inhabitants of Gigal, Onihah, Mocum, Jerusalem, Gadiandi, Gadiomnah, Jacob, Gimgimmo, Jacobugath, Laman, Josh, Gad, and Kishkumen. (a total of 16 major cities) Who did all this killing to testify of our Lord's atonement on Calvary?
3 Nephi 9:15 reveals the murderer of approximately 2 million innocent inhabitants of the Book of Mormon lands, "Behold, I am Jesus Christ the son of God. I created the heavens and the earth and all things that in them are." He adds, (in verse 21), "behold, I have come unto the world to bring redemption unto the world to save the world from sin." I guess the easiest way was to kill almost every living creature; at least the vast majority of that portion of his "other sheep have I." This Jesus was a god of wrath, exercising some form of Old Testament Judgment by the one who was supposed to be the end of the law.
The Biblical Jesus cried out to His Father,
"Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."

2 Cor.11:3-5 tells us that there will be those who would teach a different Christ. Paul says of them, "For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ".
It is recorded in the BoM that the mormon christ massacred 100's of thousands men, women and children (possibly millions) and destroyed at least 16, if not more cities.
Yet the Christ of the Bible pleaded for Father to "...forgive them for they know not what they do."? When He came back, He came back to prove He had risen, to overcome death, to have victory over sin. There is nothing in the Bible to indicate He destroyed anyone or anything when He returned. Nothing. Post resurrection, over and over again in the Bible, "do not be afraid", "peace be with you".
The mormon christ wreaked destruction, havoc, death. Do mormons worship the BoM christ, a vengeful, murderous and cruel christ or the Christ of the Bible, pleading to God on our behalf?
Don't you find it at all interesting/concerning that the BoM christ's nature is much different than the nature of biblical Christ? If not, how do you reconcile this obvious contradiction in their nature?
