Are those facts straight enough for ya?
****
This is so rediculous there are examples all over the US and I am sure in other nations.
Jerusalem was a metropolitan city just like Detroit and I am sure many other places on the earth.
Metro Detroit
Detroit (Hamtramck, Highland Park)
Canton Township Clinton Township Dearborn Farmington Hills Livonia Sterling Heights Troy Warren Westland
Dearborn Heights Farmington Hills Grosse Pointe Macomb Township Novi Pontiac Redford Township Rochester Hills Royal Oak Saint Clair Shores Shelby Township Southfield Taylor Waterford Township West Bloomfield Township
Largest Metropolitan Areas in the United States

Hey that was my post and you didn’t ping me.
So this is a really good example for lurkers. I posted a link directly from an lds site and lds still argue the point.
I will post again what I posted before.

Resty,
You do know that GOD specifically said “BETHLEHEM” - NOT Jerusalem...
Mic 5:2 “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be Ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.”
Here’s why:
- Bethlehem in Hebrew means “House of Bread” - This is where the Bread of Life was born :-)
- Mic 5:2 also verifies that Messiah would be from everlasting, from eternity past - in contrast to mormonism, which teaches Jesus Christ was created :-)
- Bethlehem was the birthplace of King David, most Hebrew kings were born in Jerusalem - Jesus Christ will reign on David’s throne :-)
- The first century Jews all understood the reference to be the town of Bethlehem.
- Bethlehem was located about 5 miles from Jerusalem - and every Jew distinguished it from Jerusalem - unfortunately, Joseph Smith couldn’t do the most basic thing, nor did he
understand why.
So God was specific for a reason.
Joseph Smith got it wrong, not being a prophet of God.
That was just one of Joseph Smiths many errors.
When Jesus was born, the road was approximately six miles in length from Jerusalem’s ‘city limits’ to Bethlehem proper. Bethlehem was not connected to Jerusalem like one of our suburbs of a major city today, Resty, regardless of what your ‘feeders’ are sending to you for posting.
So; you disgree with MORMON scholars. Not unexpected.
Alma 7:10, ( a verse from the Book of Mormon itself, says )”10 And behold, he shall be born of Mary, at Jerusalem which is the land of our forefathers, she being a virgin, a precious and chosen vessel, who shall be overshadowed and conceive by the power of the Holy Ghost, and bring forth a son, yea, even the Son of God.”
Okay I will humor you. Jesus was born in Jerusalem. Note to other Mormons scracth “Bethlehem” at Christmas. He was born in Jerusalem like the critics say.
Ahem....”O Little Town of Jerusalem.....”
