On Friday night, Anderson Cooper conducted a must-see interview with congressional candidate Renee Ellmers, the North Carolina Republican who is running the most baldly anti-Muslim advertisement of the year. This was the ad we told you about last week that refers to the organizers of Park51, "the Muslims," and "terrorists" interchangeably.
In the interview (via TPM's Eric Kleefeld), Cooper challenges Ellmers on her conflation of Muslims and terrorists. She responds: "[T]hat is certainly not what I'm intending to say. I am not intending to say that all Muslims are terrorists."
She floats the idea that the organizers of Park51 are terrorists before acknowledging that she doesn't know much about Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf.
During an exchange about whether Park51 is a "victory mosque," a frustrated Cooper exclaims: "That's like the lowest response I have ever heard from a candidate, I have got to tell you."

Gov. Palin endorsed Renee Ellmers a little while ago.
Cooper is nuts, thinking that Rome was conquered from Pagans by Christians, I wish she had really hammered him on that lie.
All Muslims might not be terrorists, Salon, but damned near all TERRORISTS certainly are MUSLIMS!!! She shouldn’t retreat one inch.
Her calmness was impressive. Also, if the show was “fair and balanced” they would have had TWO religious experts on after her. And they would have focused on different nuances of what is being discussed. The “Catholicism vs islam” churchbuilding comparison was laughable and easily debunked. But alas, there was nobody there to do it.
I agree with your statement, but just to play devil's advocate, and to watch an islamic apologist's head explode, let's say the statement is true.
Let's say the muslim extremists that have hijacked islam make up only 10% of the muslim population. There are almost 1.7 billion muslims in the world, which means that there are almost 1.7 million extremists. The United States has an active duty military strength of about 1.7 million.
So 1.7 million crazy muslim's, about the same number as the United States' total military strength, 1.7 million muslims who's motto is convert, submit, or die, are no reason to be alarmed?
The numbers don't lie, at this time, islam is liberty's greatest threat.
If that was the lowest response he has ever heard...I’d like to hear more. Ha,ha. Oh andeersin...ya gotta love him don’tcha? He tries...
you mean Bob WHO AH UUUUU, WHO AHHH UUUUU?” Etheridge?? What a jerk he is.
Wow! Good for her!

If Renee Ellmers would run a "It's Time to Retire Bob Etheridge!" and keep playing that video of him roughing up the school boy over and over again, even the farthest reaching extremities of the 2nd District would vote against him.
While not all muslims are terrorist all muslims are enemies of America freedom and liberty if they follow islam which is an evil obomination
I admire Rennee, have her as a friend on my FB page. Good for her!
Look in the northwest corner of your map. Lots of very squiggly lines in and around Greensboro. If there’s a more corrupt overtaxing county than Guilford, I don’t want to know about it.
Exactly. He was a thug (or I should say he was trying his damndest to be a thug) but failed miserably because he was more a jackass than anything else. He’s lucky the young man in question didn’t let loose on him (etheridge) or his (etheridge) next question would have been: “Who am AHHH? FOLLOWED BY: Where am ahhhh?”
When it was formed, one cartoonist depicted it as the result of a politician launching a spew of tobacco juice at the map. There are 3 congresscritters representing Charlotte, the largest city in the state. One is Watt (D) who has voters in Winston-Salem (80 miles away), another is Kissell (D) who has voters in Fayetteville (137 miles away); and the real one, Myrick (R) who represents most of the city.
