The priest said that during one of these instances, his cat quickly scurried behind the curtains, staring at a particular spot in the room.It is not normal for a cat to hide, tremble and stare at a particular point, he added.
That priest must have never owned a cat.

Pan gave the devil his horns.
Modern depictions of the devil (the most beautiful angel) as a goat like demon are based upon the Medieval association of the devil with paganism and Pan.

That’s true. The Bible says he sometimes appears as an angel of light.
Those expecting Satan to tempt them as some sort of cartoon character are in for a surprise.
I think the Stones’ “Sympathy for the Devil” is fairly prescient.

While the physical evidence for God in the universe is very strong there is no evidence for Satan outside the human mind.

"It is not normal for a cat to hide, tremble and stare at a particular point," he added. Maybe not normal, but hey, it's a cat. There's nothing normal about em'. :)

I think the Catholic church had a point, based on their doctrines, of describing the demons in their demonologies as hierarchical, based on a hierarchy of sins.
As such, Lucifer, at the apex of demons, likewise had the apex of sin with his pride. Importantly, his sin was not just ordinary pride, but a pride that very specifically challenges God. And note in the Old Testament, that this was such a serious sin that even mortals could bring down heavenly wrath by using it. Nimrod, with his tower of Babel, destroyed not just himself but his nation because of pride.
So above all, Lucifer transformed into Satan, must still have as his calling card pride above pride. It is his definition.

Well, to each their own, I suppose. But the quote
It is not normal for a cat to hide, tremble and stare at a particular point, he added. ...is nonsense.
I'm not qualified to debate theology with this guy. I can, however, talk about the behavior of cats. This guy is reading what he wants into it.

You can still spot Satan based on the “D-” after his/her name.

Good article; the priest looks serious! As to the actions of cats, we have three, used to have five, and while they all have stared at a particular spot from time to time (especially after consumption of catnip), they do not hide or tremble. So maybe those that have cats that do, actually have cats that are seeing the devil [cue spooky music]. And I was pleased to hear Satan has no horns; I'll stop inspecting The One's head for nubs every time he speaks.
And surely the devil can come dressed very nicely as well. One of my favorite stories is from St. John Vianney in that regard. (In fact, after my daughter read it, she started wearing a Miraculous Medal around her neck, and keeps the habit still today.)
Link. The devil is everywhere; some aloofly call him a fad or fun entertainment for their kids; Satan loves their lack of insight:
