1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother?s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother?s eye.

As a good Mormon, honest to a fault, perhaps you will tell me to which of my posts you wish to direct that passage in scriptures. Put another way, in your judgment to which of my postings would you direct that scripture passage?

Oh Spiff, you know that is the most oft misused verse by the enemies of Christianity, as if they are trying to turn the faith in on themselves.

A Christian who knows the Bible, (which IS translated correctly) knows that pertains to fellow Christians who are acting in a hypocritical manner, we are not to judge the hearts of our brothers and sisters in the family of Christ

HOWEVER...

We can judge actions and also teachings and doctrine that are false or contrary to the Word of God...

JOHN 7:14: “Judge not according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment.”

LUKE 12:57: “Yea, and why not even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?”

PSALM 37:30: “The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.”

PROVERBS 31:9: “Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.”

LUKE 17:3: “Take heed... If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent,

2 Peter 2:1-3 but there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovreign Lord who bought them - bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping”

1 John 4:1 “dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world”

1 Timothy 4:1-8 1The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 2Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. 3They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. 4For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.
6If you point these things out to the brothers, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, brought up in the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed. 7Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. 8For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

Spiff, did you not judge all otehr faiths when you either joined or decided as an adult to stay with the LDS?

Did you not Judge the very post you responded to in order to formulate your response.

Righteous judgment of the words, teachings and doctrines of others is perfectly allowable by God.

Apparently you have zero idea what these passages are about.
I can judge you. I can not judge your heart.
However I am commanded to judge everything against the Word of God.
So go back actually read what these verses are about in context.

“Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment” - Jesus (John 7:24)

Christians are to judge with a righteous judgment - not based on how mormonism looks to outsiders when it puts on its best appearance, but based on God’s standards of truth.

It looks great on the outside. It fails on the inside.
