Looking forward to the weekend is such an institution even officially-atheist nations like China shut down for Sunday. Here in America, it seems like the weekend is our goal line for all the days before! No wonder they write songs about it.

Now, is anything wrong with that? The answer may surprise you, and even more when you realize that even the Puritans thought games and recreation could be Biblical and righteous ...

I've always believed that one of the attributes of God is that He is creative. He makes things. He made the whole universe, so what better way to glorify Him than to make. It's expressed in men in woodworking and metalsmithing, and in women in cooking, baking, and that bane of testosterone everywhere, scrapbooking. Realizing that this past year has gotten me interested in electronics and silver jewelry making.

In other news, this aspect of creativity can be perverted by old Scratch, which is why we need Vocational Programs for high schoolers! (getting down off soapbox...)
