After I was saved, I tried to stay in the church, I had RCC Charismatic friends and to be honest I felt at the time they were saved.. I started to attend some of their programs, many of them went to a local AOG assembly on Sunday evenings..that is how that became my first step out of catholism... When I could not stay any longer I asked how they could.. they told me they felt they could bring Christ to the church. These were "older" ladies and really catholic by family and culture ..I actually think they had one foot in each church and did not want to move for fear of being wrong ...

I still think of them with love..

well they recognized that Christ wasn’t the focus of the church. I’m not a big believer in the charismatic movement and keep my distance, yet whatever is going on in the Catholic movement is worth note. Either God has sent them a spirit of confusion or he’s enlightening many, or both.

I used to be tempted to judge such folks.

I learned that wasn’t fitting! Doh!

They were at least learning how to hear and follow The Lord’s leading in their individual lives and He was well able to get His priorities across to them given their heart attitudes and willingness to follow Him.

Certainly God looks on the heart. And, who am I to say—had I been reared in such an INSTITUTION for 70 years . . . was nearing the end of my sojourn here, had lots of family etc . . . I could conceive of staying within that context and sharing the new LIFE IN HOLY SPIRIT I’d been learning about in bits and drabs as I felt His leading helping me get away with it.

Besides, they were attending services where they could get recharged, blessed, eneregized more intensely and directly by Holy Spirit than is typical in most RC contexts.
