Quix is not alone in that thinking. That’s been bounced around as an option for decades.
It’s a plausible explanation for the disappearance of millions taken by the Rapture. Any who do not know better can be taken in by that as an explanation IF there is enough groundwork laid to support the belief in extraterrestrials, as is happening now.
The way that it could be used by the anti-Christ is in portraying alien abduction as a threat against mankind that mankind must unite against, loyalty to mankind and against the threat being demonstrated by the receiving of a mark either on the right hand or forehead.
Instead of FORCING people to take it, he’d be having people lining up to volunteer to take it to show their loyalty to mankind or humanity.
I find it rather interesting that the mockery and derision of this as a possibility comes from the camp who sees images of Christ or Mary in things like stains on floors, burnt toast, or tree bark. Any people’s ready to believe that kind of nonsense is more than ripe for believing in alien abduction. Catholicism does little or nothing to protect its adherents from superstitious nonsense.
I realize how easy it is to think people who believe in that stuff are off their rockers...because well, many are, but on careful examination you will find they genuinely believe this and have been fully persuaded by very cunning and smart instructors...from Dr.s to and highly educated people...who are falling for this. I was stunned when I looked into who is involved...... The problem comes from the cook fringe integrating into those who are seeking evidence and serious research about this....it is difficult sifting out the nonsense when you look into it. But I understand those, like Quix, equally get frustrated with the dingbats.
Oh wait! If there are only Catholics on this thread who believe in the Divinity of Jesus , the Bible and the white hankies then why would the unwashed care if the rapture and Antichrist come to enslave them?
Will the rapture come with its own rap music and proper rappers to usher us all to heaven?
What needs to happen in the spirit of truthful advertising is for all the unwashed non-catholics to categorically state what they do or do not believe in the spiritual realm We need a scorecard of every-ones beliefs since this is becoming confusing.
God bless us all

INDEED.
