The ultimate intention of Catholicism is the restoration of the Holy Roman Empire. That has always been the ambition, at least covertly, but now it is being promoted overtly and openly.
The purpose of this article is only to make that intention clear. It is not a criticism of Catholics or Catholicism (unless you happen to think a Catholic dictatorship is not a good thing).
The most important point is to understand that when a Catholic talks about liberty or freedom, it is not individual liberty that is meant, not the freedom to live one's life as a responsible individual with the freedom to believe as one chooses, not the freedom to pursue happiness, not the freedom to produce and keep what one has produced as their property. What Catholicism means by freedom, is freedom to be a Catholic, in obedience to the dictates of Rome.
The Intentions Made Plain
The following is from the book Revolution and Counter-Revolution:
"B. Catholic Culture and Civilization
"Therefore, the ideal of the Counter-Revolution is to restore and promote Catholic culture and civilization. This theme would not be sufficiently enunciated if it did not contain a definition of what we understand by Catholic culture and Catholic civilization. We realize that the terms civilization and culture are used in many different senses. Obviously, it is not our intention here to take a position on a question of terminology. We limit ourselves to using these words as relatively precise labels to indicate certain realities. We are more concerned with providing a sound idea of these realities than with debating terminology.
"A soul in the state of grace possesses all virtues to a greater or lesser degree. Illuminated by faith, it has the elements to form the only true vision of the universe.
"The fundamental element of Catholic culture is the vision of the universe elaborated according to the doctrine of the Church. This culture includes not only the learning, that is, the possession of the information needed for such an elaboration, but also the analysis and coordination of this information according to Catholic doctrine. This culture is not restricted to the theological, philosophical, or scientific field, but encompasses the breadth of human knowledge; it is reflected in the arts and implies the affirmation of values that permeate all aspects of life.
"Catholic civilization is the structuring of all human relations, of all human institutions, and of the State itself according to the doctrine of the Church.
|
Got that? "Catholic civilization is the structuring of all human relations, of all human institutions, and of the State itself according to the doctrine of the Church." The other name for this is called "totalitarianism," the complete rule of every aspect of life.
This book and WEB sites like that where it is found are spreading like wildfire. These people do not believe the hope of America is the restoration of the liberties the founders sought to guarantee, these people believe the only hope for America is Fatima. Really!
In Their Own Words
The following is from the site, "RealCatholicTV." It is a plain call for a "benevolent dictatorship, a Catholic monarch;" their own words. They even suggest that when the "Lord's Payer," is recited, it is just such a Catholic dictatorship that is being prayed for.

First, in this country, freedom of speech means that anyone may express any view no matter how much anyone else disagrees with that view, or is offended by it. I totally defend that meaning of freedom of speech.
This is what Catholics believe, and quite frankly, I do not see how any consistent Catholic could disagree with it, though I suspect some may. I have no objection to their promoting those views, because it is what they believe. Quite frankly I am delighted they are expressing them openly. For one thing, it makes it much easier to understand Catholic dialog, and what they mean by the words they use.
Secondly, I think if their views were actually implemented, it would mean the end true freedom, of course, but I do not believe there is any such danger.
And, you must like milk, too, right?
No; but I like some of the containers that it comes in...
But there is no pustule any more. The sin has been forgiven. It doesn't exist. We are the righteousness of Christ.
1 Corinthians 6: 9Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
That's what some of us WERE. Past tense.
The sin is GONE!!!!!!!! The atonement was complete and perfect.
No Catholic has ever said that we will be saved by our works. Part of the frustration is when you guys keep saying these false statements and we keep telling you that that is not part of the Faith. Why do you keep repeating them?
The believer who trusts in Christ IS forgiven and HAS eternal life. Anyone who thinks that they can, or have to, add anything to the work of Christ on the cross is essentially spitting in His face, telling Him that what He did wasn't good enough but the measly, pitiful, imperfect works that they do is. What an insult to Christ.
Evocative imagery. Strawman and therefore invalid. There is no need for "what an insult to Christ" appeal to emotions, when your statement was completely invalid in the first place.
Imagine that. Christ's painful agonizing death on the cross to pay for sins doesn't earn man a place in heaven without that man adding some pitiful, painless, attempts at what he labels good works, like .....(fill in the blank). Any good work which you think completes what Jesus did because what he did wasn't enough.
Strawman. This is not the Faith. We keep posting it, though in the hope that those who have walked away from Catholicism will reconsider.
Note what Peter did NOT say: "Believe in Jesus, get baptized, come to my church, participate in the communion sacrament, be good, don't sin - and if you do, go to confession and do penance, and maybe, if you are faithful enough, you will first go through torture in a place called Purgatory for some time, and then you will be saved and be in Heaven." Now THAT might be what an uninformed "milkmaid" might have told him if he had been around when Luther was first starting out.
I get the impression of guilt and the outrage of having one's core beliefs (however well defined or not) shown to be in error. I believe that it is the unlettered swamp dwellers and the ex Catholics that provide the greatest resistance to the Faith handed down to us by the Apostles from Jesus. The first, because they really don't know any better, and the second because there is something there that is hurting their soul. Some hurts are keen and some ache, but it is a reaction to the Church that leads to a repudiation of Christianity.
Did you read my post, or just scan it? Secondly, if it is Paul, why are you not suddenly hugging it to your chest?
The other thing is, we can never be sure from one day to the next whether Scriptural support from Paul's writings will pass muster. At that point, why waste the bandwidth just to have it rejected out of hand?
All of Paul's writings are Scripture. We just take them in context.
Ooops, sorry HTML error. Acknowledged.
The “gospel” is the good news of Jesus Christ. It is really mentioned in many places throughout Scripture. And, your post has been answered. Go back and see for yourself. Hope you have a good night.
If you sin in the future, you open up a new pustule.
What happens when you run out of Pauline snippets? What then? Will you retreat to Isaiah?
Read the context. The Corinthians are suing each other in the pagan Roman courts and the whole church at Corinth is about to go down. It's a pep talk and trying to get them not to self destruct. Read the context, read the Gospel, read Revelation and come back and see.
The sin is GONE!!!!!!!! The atonement was complete and perfect.
If you commit a sin, it is not gone, until you repent of that sin after you commit it.
Sanctification is a life-long process of the Holy Spirit which begins when we are regenerated from the natural man to the spiritual man, born again by the new birth where God writes His laws upon our heart and renews our mind to understand the things of God.
"But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth" -- 2 Thessalonians 2:13 "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ" -- Philippians 1:6
Justification is a one-time event where God proclaims what He has done for our souls by the sacrifice of His Son on our behalf. This justification was ordained by God from before the foundation of the world, but is made known to us at the moment we come to faith in Christ. Justification forensically declares men acquitted of their sins by Christ taking on the punishment rightly do the sinner.
Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him." -- Romans 5:8-9
"Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses." -- Acts 13:38-39"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Here is Packer's great essay on justification...
"...So, where Rome had taught a piecemeal salvation, to be gained by stages through working a sacramental treadmill, the Reformers now proclaimed a unitary salvation, to be received in its entirety here and now by self-abandoning faith in God's promise, and in the God and the Christ of that promise, as set forth in the pages of the Bible. Thus the rediscovery of the gospel brought a rediscovery of evangelism, the task of summoning non-believers to faith. Rome had said, God's grace is great, for through Christ's cross and his Church salvation is possible for all who will work and suffer for it; so come to church, and toil! But the Reformers said, God's grace is greater, for through Christ's cross and his Spirit salvation, full and free, with its unlimited guarantee of eternal joy, is given once and forever to all who believe; so come to Christ, and trust and take!...
And here is Hodge's excellent understanding...
In opposition to this doctrine, the Reformers maintained that by justification the Scriptures mean something different from sanctification. That the two gifts, although inseparable, are distinct, and that justification, instead of being an efficient act changing the inward character of the sinner, is a declarative act, announcing and determining his relation to the Law and justice of God..."By this the Reformers intended, in the first place, to deny the Romish doctrine of subjective[1] justification. That is, that justification consists in an act of God making the sinner subjectively holy. Romanists confound or unite justification and sanctification. They define justification as the remission of sin and infusion of new habits of grace. By remission of sin they mean not simply pardon, but the removal of everything of the nature of sin from the soul. Justification, therefore, with them, is purely subjective, consisting in the destruction of sin and the infusion[2] of holiness.
But how are we to take your skepticism about sanctification seriously when you've told us you don't know what God is?
How can you challenge our understanding when you don't accept the reason for it or the validity of the evidence submitted?
lol. AMEN. Just more non-Scriptural superstitions, puffing up the creation at the expense of the Creator.
We do not pay for anything; please do not attempt to take credit for the Lords work. The wages of sin is death, so we cannot afford to pay for even one sin. We have no righteousness but that of Christ, so the only good works that we can do are as a result of and the evidence of our salvation, not payment on any account.
AMEN! Grace is the free, unmerited gift of God. Thus all the glory for that gift belongs to the one who provides it, and not the one who receives it.
Wonderful Scriptures of Truth.
Thx.
Thank you. I did. The Gospel is explicitly Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The words of Jesus. It may be mentioned throughout Scripture, but it is defined as the Four Gospels, not snippets of Isaiah - who doesn't tell us of the divinity of Christ, and gets a bunch of other things wrong as well.
Having your ideas challenged is a "price" one has to pay for being free. It has been my experience that people who shout "freedom!" and 'tolerance!" are least likely to support freedom and tolerance.
That seems to be true of the liberal segments of our society, whose idea of "tolerance" is zero tolerance for anything that is not their point of view. Unfortunately, I see the same disturbing characteristic in the fringe elements of our conservative segment as well.
Got it. The Reformed Petrine formula for Reformed salvation is "Believe in the Lord Jesus; don't go to church; be as evil as you wanna be; sin all you like; no muss, no fuss, no pain involved; and you'll get to the Reformed Heaven. Sounds very much like what you guys are saying. Thanks.
> “Only someone utterly misinformed would believe that.”
.
Yes, only the misinformed believe Gods word - NOT!
Pathetic!
.
Lost cause!
Enjoy your “purgatory.” (what if it never ends?)
But people who actually speak koine Greek and have access to original manuscripts do.

Thank you, Dr. E. That was my impression of what the Church believes and teaches. However, editor-surveyor's "most explicit" quote of (1 Cor 6:11) seems to say otherwise. Here Paul says to the former fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, effeminate, abusers of themselves...thieves, covetous, drunkards, revilers, or extortioners, that they are now washed, sanctified and justified. The sentence is in aorist, active, indicativein other words, an accomplished fact. How is sanctification then a "life-long" process, if it is already something accomplished?
Of course, in Philippians 1:6, which you were kind enough to post, Paul addresses a different crowd and tells them a different message (imagine that!). Here he asserts that sanctification is a life-long process.
Nothing new for Paul, who describes himself "as all thing to all people," as long as they buy into his gospel, but there is a logical problem how can something be an accomplished fact and a life-long process at the same time.
But how are we to take your skepticism about sanctification seriously when you've told us you don't know what God is?
If you are responding to things you don't take seriously, what does that say about you? This is not about God, and skepticism about God does not preclude asking questions about Paul. Paul is not God.
How can you challenge our understanding when you don't accept the reason for it or the validity of the evidence submitted?
The same way you challenge the Theory of Evolution when you don't accept the reason for it or the validity of the evidence submitted? :)
