Thank you. How sweet is the Gospel of Jesus! Praise his holy name!!!
First Judgement and Second Judgement say that this view is wrong. Thank God I'm not like the Catholics, right?
If you ARE saved right now, then you are pure and holy and without sin. I have to admit that you are usually an honourable debator, but without sin? I don't think so.
To say I am saved is to rest in the mercy of God that you so earnestly pray for over and over again. He HAS had mercy on us and proved it by sending Jesus to this world to die in our place. He died FOR us so that we can be made righteous in him. He offers us the gift of eternal life as a gift by grace we receive through faith. We don't earn or deserve a gift but accept it, receive it, take it.
What if you reject by future sin? How can you repent of future sin if you haven't committed it yet? If you are planning on committing a future sin, then you haven't repented of it. No sin gets into Heaven. You have to have that sin purged from your soul. Paul says that it's gonna hurt as through fire. Describe your fire.
I think the stumbling block here is somehow thinking by saying, "I am saved by grace" is to be presumptuous - but that would only be true if the presumption was on my own worthiness or sinlessness. It is not! It is resting in the promise of God that he has redeemed us by the blood of Christ. I fall solely on his mercy and forgiveness, I trust in his love, I rest only in his grace. That is all any of us can do and all he says we must do to be saved. Believe, trust, accept. The life we live after this is through faith and grace as well and good works are a sign that we have been renewed and reborn by his Spirit. No presumption at all - it is all by faith.
God has redeemed all of us. He holds out the promise of inheritance to His Kingdom. Yet the Prodigal Son IS humanity. You come back; or you don't. The son that remained will probably inherit the Kingdom, given that he doesn't pull some stunt himself, but he is guilty of wrath and envy and will have to pay to the last coin for those.
Argue with the Scripture that I have brought before you. I am accused (falsely) by many on your side that I do not provide Scripture (falsely). Here I have Jesus, I have Paul, I have John, and here I have the justification for the process of the cleansing of one's soul after the Second Judgement and before the entrance to Heaven. You can call it Purgatory. You can call it Chuck E Cheese for all I care. It's still what the Bible instructs us.
> “Also, you don’t carry scrolls (which are sacred), except in certain prescribed situations.
.
Paul was on the road to damascus to hold court, and bring accusation (likely unto death) against a group of Christians. He represented the full authority of the Sanhedrin in that function.
.
You are already sanctified?
I suggest that you re-read 1Corinthians a few times until the order of things sinks in.
That's right, Mark, read Paul. He is telling you everything Jesus didn't.
You wanna have a go at my posts?
Amen!
If you wallow in false statements, you will never learn the truth. .
I didn't have the pleasure to read it before it was rmeoved, but I can only imagine how prolific it must have been.
> “If you ARE saved right now, then you are pure and holy and without sin. I have to admit that you are usually an honourable debator, but without sin? I don’t think so.”
.
In the eyes of God, those covered by the blood of his son are without sin.
Of course, until you accept that fact, it does not reach you. that is the very essence of the Gospel.

It was a reply to your absurd request for a ‘source’ for something that you have already stated that you do not believe in.
Which edition of the "received text?" The reason there is concordance with the oldest known manuscripts is because there were so many redact ions to harmonize it with the oldest extant copies. The concordance with the earliest manuscripts is an artifical result after many deliberate repetitions. Would you like to know when the redact ions started and by whom?
LOL!!
Doesn't address eternal salvation - it tells you to act Godly.
Ephesians 4:30And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
A wax seal was put on to indicate that the document was genuine. It is not a baggie, nor is it a guarantee that the person who receives it doesn't tear it up - which is what sin does.
1 John 5:13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
Check out what 'may know' really means.
It's not presumptuous to believe that if we're saved we stay saved buy God's grace and not through our own efforts. It's simply trusting God to do what He said He'd do.
You can believe in anything you want. I give you Scriptural proofs of what God has instructed us and what the Faith consists of. If you don't like it, then Martin Luther's any milkmaid model applies, doesn't it?
Nonsense!
It appears that You are simply attempting to comfort yourself in your twisted unbelief by further denying the word of God.
Yeah, it's been a looooong day for me; and I've been putting some skull sweat into these posts...
And Protestants insist on having recieved it, based on the writigns of a mortal man.

You need no source in your desire to disbelieve; I will not waste my time on such foolishness.
Why do you suppose that Christ told his disciples to shake the dust from their sandals before leaving?
You post three passages from Hebrews and call them the Gospel of Jesus? This is an excellent example of where you guys differ considerably from the Faith. We consider Matthew, Mark, Luke and John to be the Gospel of Jesus. I notice that nobody has really taken on the Scripture posted addressing both the religion of the book vs. faith, and the scriptural proofs of Purgatory. Is nobody interested, now that the original question was asked and the Scripture provided? Will we hear the same question coming up on another thread complaining that there is no Catholic posting of Scripture?
