You know that doctors who don’t know the answer or can’t find out the cause, will try to pass off your symptoms as psychological. They tend to do that more with women than with men. It frosts me no end. I get snippy with doctors in my old age. I don’t trust em and I tell them so. I go to our family doctor twice a year whether I need it or not, (I usually don’t). I was having some digestive problems before I went on Adkins Diet. Since staying away from carbs, my digestive problems have cleared up. Easy to see that I don’t tolerate sugars. Other than the eye thing, I’m disgustingly healthy for a 76 yr. old.
NO thanks.....Since the initial problem was caused by necessary antibiotic, we use them very sparingly...life saving only.
As far as I can recall, I’ve only had one round of antibiotics in the past 20 years. That was for a Diverticulitis attack that got out of hand. Since then I’ve made sure that I don’t have an attack (Metamusil).
Prayers up!
Maybe this has been answered before, but just curious if you'd know why soy is used in everything. Same with MSG---seems we got along quite well without these things for many, many years.
Because the soy industry pushed the ingredient. I know first hand the deceit they used to other food industry companies. Remember my BIL was one of the 22 fired for saying it was not a good ingredient and should NOT be used.
Sorry, I don’t know what region she’s in. I don’t keep folks straight on such scores and have to repeatedly ask them.
My flaw.
Immediate prayers for MetMom.
May the Good Shepherd heal your food allergies and strengthen your body as He has so clearly strengthened your mind and faith and Christian testimony.
We’re with you, MetMom.
Will keep you on my prayer list. Keep in touch. I’m interested in anything you find as I’m still on the journey although am so much better than I was seven years ago.
Have you considered going to MAYO or Rochester Clinics?
Keep the faith, God will open doors!
Thoughts and prayers for you metmom.
Thanks Quix for the ping!
Every so often I hear of people with your problem. It’s not common, but it’s not unheard of. Sounds like you have a wicked case of it. The problem is, it’s one of those things that doctors can’t figure out, and have no pat answer for, like cancer or heart disease.
I knew a woman years ago who had it with toxins or chemicals in the environment. She spent two years at death’s door, because she reacted to anything. She couldn’t be near groups of people - even their deodorant or cleansers would set it off.
She ended up living in practically a bubble. It was sort of beyond MD’s experience at the time, but they couldn’t argue with the health problems she was dealing with - they were extreme and definately not psychosomatic, and she nearly died from reactions several times.
She started to have some improvement after spending a boatload of money to remove the mercury from her teeth. At the time I knew her she was very happy because that did seem to really help. She did get into some experimental program, and I lost touch with her.
I know it’s hard. I’ve been praying for you.
Metmom,
I have to admit that, although I knew your condition was becoming more serious, I didn’t really understand just how serious it had become. I’ve been keeping you in my thoughts and prayers and will continue to do so.
Prayers up metmom.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention wagglebee.
There’s a naturalist in the area who might know of a dentist who would be willing and able to do that.
He does do consults/appts by phone, however you might have to go there at least ONCE....it could be worth it, though. Actually, now that I think about it, he’s now focusing on men’s health, although for extreme issues, he’s probably open to helping....a telephone call to his “nurse” (Elisabeth) would get you answers....
If high histamine foods cause reactions, are your histamine levels already elevated?
Is it possible something in your surroundings other than food is causing reactions or making them worse by keeping you at a level of histamine just below what it takes to set off a reaction and that food reactions just put you 'over the top'? I am sure you have considered this, but please exhaust those possiblities as well. From trace elements in our water to the aromatics in plants around us, all we are around affects our body chemistry.
Again, my prayers for your healing and solutions to the problem are on the way.
It was at this time last year I started having a lot of trouble. August is historically a bad month for me. I’m sure my system is overloaded right now and that it takes next to nothing to push me over the edge.
As a matter of fact, I was in such bad shape last fall that I was beginning to wonder if I’d make it to the end of the year.
I’ve had plenty of tests done. My IgE levels are generally high, although my histamine levels aren’t out of the ordinary. I take two anti-histamines a day, one in the morning and one at night.
