I really try to make myself a better person etc. But I guess God can see my rotten soul.

I really try to make myself a better person etc. But I guess God can see my rotten soul. All of our works are but filthy rags. (Isiah 64:6) We can't come to God on our terms, because we can't meet his measure. The good news is that Christ fulfilled all righteousness for us. When we repent and come to Christ all of our sins are placed on him and his righteousness is given to us.
