That it took the council of Nicea to come up with the words “Holy Trinity”? Maybe to actually put it in those exact words, but I hardly doubt the “church” of believers did not understand the concept quite clearly. How did the idea of the “heresy” come about if not for there being the truth first? Read:
1 John 5:6-7 (King James Version)
6This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
7For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
Thanks for the Scripture, I guess the claim the Trinity isn’t in the Bible is so much papal bull.
Let me ask you. Does B.C. stand for Before Catholism? Nothing that has ever happened, happened, until Rome. One would think..
Applying a label to a concept is not creating the concept.
The so called early church fathers didn’t pull it out of thin air. They had to get it from somewhere and they obviously got it from Scripture, the same Scripture that so many Catholics today fail to recognize as authoritative.
Good, you answered that — now I’ll wait for someone who svitw considers in the same “camp” of non-Catholics to answer
