Call me dense, I'm not offended by correction, but let's see if I have this right... a freeper can post his advice on what others should do (his thoughts) and he cannot be addressed on following his own advice? Is that what you are saying? Is this a "do as I say but don't question what I do because then it's personal' scenerio?
If I'm wrong, I'm open for correction - so have at it, if need be.

Once you address him on following his own advice you make the thread "about" him instead of his advice. When I detect a post like that, I issue a warning.
There are other ways to volley the ball back to his side of the court without making it personal. For instance, construct an example or hypothesis and ask him how he would apply his advice to it.
