a freeper can post his advice on what others should do (his thoughts) and he cannot be addressed on following his own advice? Is that what you are saying?
Once you address him on following his own advice you make the thread "about" him instead of his advice. When I detect a post like that, I issue a warning.
There are other ways to volley the ball back to his side of the court without making it personal. For instance, construct an example or hypothesis and ask him how he would apply his advice to it.

Thank you for your advice and patience. But as far as 'to volley the ball back to his side of the court' - I think not.
construct an example or hypothesis and ask him how he would apply his advice to it.
Are you sure I wouldn't be accused of acting superior - like me the teacher quizzing he the student? :)
Taken from small voice in the wilderness' post which is my belief, also.........We do NOT believe the same things and are NOT called to travel back and forth, around the cross, in order to make nice.
It's known it's the receiver who decides to take it personal. You've been most kind, thanks again.
