Been there, done that, nothing there for anyone who understands scripture as well as history.

Nonsense. Having degrees in Biblical studies, theology and a PhD in Medieval History, I have found much in my Evangelical faith.
It comes down to this: It isn’t about ‘religion’ it is about a relationship with Christ and that can be found in many Christian Churches.
And we must ask.
Unity, therefore, around our story of a resurrected Messiah, is a conduit through which the power of the Holy Spirit works on those who witness it. Christian Unity is an intersection with the Divine dimension, and the power of that intersection is convincing to all, whether they walk through that Door or not.
Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. - John 15:1-5
Your statement presumes that Christ founded a denomination.
The Greek word translated ‘church’ means assembly, or ‘called out ones’, it has nothing to do with a specific group.
However, your viewpoints are familiar to me and I do understand where you are coming from. It does appear though that you cannot seem to separate Christ from the RCC and that can come VERY VERY close to worshiping the Church instead of Christ. I see that very often among Mormons.
If we Christians are so busy quarreling with each other, then we miss out on addressing the real threat our society faces: To post-modern progressives like our sitting president, Christians are a PROBLEM that gets in the way of accomplishing their planned complete revision of American culture and politics: Sans God; sans Constitution.
You know the old adage "United we stand; divided we fall."
LDS does appear to be a non-Christian sect, if the description you give is a fair one regarding the essential tenets it holds.

CC’s description is indeed accurate regarding their essential tenents. The LDS teach that there are 3 Gods, that “Heavenly Father” was once a man like us, that the 3 Gods are one ONLY in purpose, that 2 have a body of flesh and bone, and that the point of us coming to earth (from a pre-existent state) was to gain a body and learn to become gods over our own planet. They also believe that there are millions upon millions of gods, but that these 3 are the only ones for THIS planet.
Like, CC, I also used to be Mormons. SZonian (another former Mormon) can also corroborate these doctrines.
Also, if you are interested, I can give you several LDS sites that teach the above doctrines and other, even more shocking ones.

For the most part, I agree. However, I am accused of ‘causing division’ because I actively witness on here to Mormons, who CLAIM to be ‘Christians’ but believe and teach things contrary to Christ and the Bible - such things as stated above.
I will not cause division in the Body of Christ, especially over non-salvific matters, but I will also protect the sheep from the wolves in sheep’s clothing (Mormons) because I am commanded to.
2 Corinthians 11:12-13
And I will keep on doing what I am doing in order to cut the ground from under those who want an opportunity to be considered equal with us in the things they boast about. For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ.
Weve posted examples from their own documents. Sometimes even from the Catechism . . .
They dodge, ignore, obfuscate, deny, rationalize, wail, whine, throw dust in the air, run to the RM, attack the messengervirtually anything but deal with the evidenceor even solid proof.

Chuckle. Oh the irony. Reno was most likely complaining about those who speak out against Mormonism on here (he is LDS). His apparent complaint is about us doing exactly what you posted but about the LDS rather than the RC and the response you stated is a perfect description of how the LDS respond when we post quotes by their leaders and books.
Just a courtesy ping, reno.
