Our vocabularies are limited in their ability to describe that which we cannot put our hands on, a colour already being mentioned, the scent of a flower or what an electron actually is. All exist whatever our limited ability to fully describe them.

They can be described by chemical and mathematical terms, demonstrated experimentally and isolated. None of them require faith.

Chemical formulae don't due justice to Smetana's The Moldau or (for that matter) to my wife's legs.

Poetry is required.
