Well known and admired 108 year old Rabbi reveals the Messiah's name!
AMEN.
Because the LORD says to test everything, we are not led by *Blind Faith* the Bible in itself is *prophetic*. Why do you think so many people today believe we are the *Last Generation* to witness prophetic events? it is because of what’s in the Holy Bible....
I thought it was worth saving as well Quix!
Happy Independence Day!
My Dearest TaraP- You crack me up. I know your heart is good. Shalom
We can read unrubberized histories.
With The Old Testament.
Thats sufficient.
But you still assume the "new testament" from the outset. If you did not, the "old testament" would not predict it at all.
The whole of the Hebrew Bible is not authorized by the Torah.
You are quite correct to recognize the distinction between the Torah (the direct, unmediated Word of G-d) and all other scriptures. However, the Torah commands one to heed prophets. However, this does not extend to a "prophet" who would end or replace the Torah (and please spare me the word games about how "J*sus fulfilled the Torah, he didn't replace it").
Everything in the Hebrew Bible other than the Torah had to be canonized by a human authority. As a matter of fact, there were many more prophets and many, many prophecies in ancient Jewish history. The ones we have in the Hebrew Bible today were canonized for all time precisely because they have not yet been fulfilled. Once their prophecies have come to pass they will still be available but no longer be necessary. Only the Torah is eternal.
each book, any book of any kind is not made holy by some canonization process, be it Judaic or Christian. God's "signature" is on His scribes, and on His prophets. Word is entwined with Prophecy, and each bears witness to the other.
You are wrong! Only the Torah was directly written by G-d Himself and dictated letter-for-letter. The Prophecies and Hagiographa were written in the words of the human authors. Plus there have always been many religious books that have claimed to be scripture. Do you know why decides what is and what is not Scripture? The duly-constituted religious authority, that is who. I accept the Na"KH because I accept the authority, under the Torah, of the Men of the Great Assembly who compiled and canonized it.
New cannot disregard old, or make it null.
Then we don't need a "new" testament or a chr*stian religion. If you accept them then you must accept the religious authority of the ecclesiastical bodies that canonized them.
I agree with you.
My argument with Roamer_1 and the other people on this thread is where the Biblical canon ends. I simply say it ended before the "new testament" was written and added to it. And it had to be added. It wasn't there originally. How would they feel if someone wanted to add more books to it today?
The messiah that he is? He can not be the messiah until he actually fullfills the tasks of messiah. Is there world peace? Is there universal knowlege of G-d? Has the Temple been rebuilt? Have sacrifices returned? Has the lion lay down with the lamb? NO!
Their mold? Messiah is not a hybrid god-man that you worship by eating his flesh and drinking his blood. Have you seen that in the OT somewhere? That messiah is a roman-greek god, not the G-d of Abraham Isaac and Jacob.
WHY hasnt he came yet!
Who Jesus? He said that generation would not pass away until his return....Well, it has been 2000 years. No Return. Paul said those alive then would see it..nope.
That is false prophesy.
Adonai is Yeshua Ha Mashiaich
Blasphemy! Whoa!!
" with all the suffering, war, mayhem, heartache and especially the pain the Jewish people have to endure in a world growing more hostile towards them, why hasnt Hashem come?"
He will and this will be your words.
19O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.
And many peoples shall come, and say: "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths," for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. (Isaiah 2:3)
Jman is not returning...sorry
INDEED. WELL PUT. THX.
AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!
I thoroughly disagree.
Isaiah, Danial, Psalms, Zech, Ezek et al are virtually saturated with prophecy that is
about this era
regardless of what is in or absent from the NT.
If you accept them then you must accept the religious authority of the ecclesiastical bodies that canonized them.
OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH NO!
NOT any more than God had to accept the religious rulers of Israel during her many dark periods.
Human RELIGIOUS rulers tend to be chronically stuck on themselves; out of touch with God and harsh with the people. Doesn’t matter what Testament one is looking at.
God has ALWAYS asked man to face HIM, dialogue with HIM.
He asked it first through Moses and directly at the Tent of Meeting. He has ALWAYS been about RELATIONSHIP.
Man’s capacity to corrupt the process and organizations structured around the process does NOT tarnish God’s part nor God’s goals.
I take that to mean that Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, up TO THE POINT of Jesus Christ's death, were part of the Old Testament. IOW the New Testament actually BEGINS with the death of Christ.
I BELIEVE
that G_D ALMIGHTY
added Psalms, Daniel et al to the Pentatuch.
And that G_D ALMIGHTY added the New Testament.
G_D ALMIGHTY can do whatever HE wants.
It happens to be HIS multiverse AND HIS EVERLASTING WORD.
I don’t believe HE WILL add to the OLD AND NEW TESTAMENT. I believe HIS PURPOSE for such a ‘vetted’ collection of Scriptures is about to be wound up—at least in this era, this multiverse.
HOWEVER, HE COULD, SHOULD HE SO CHOOSE.
AND, HE MIGHT do it through a human process of vetting, though I seriously doubt it. With Christ ruling and reigning in the Millenium, all kinds of things could occur that we have no conception of nor even fantasies about.
People often say to Pentecostals . . .
WELLLLLLLLL, IF GOD IS SPEAKING THROUGH YOU—IT’S GOD’S WORDS, YOU BELIEVE. SO YOU’RE ADDING TO SCRIPTURE!
NO. Christ taught, said tons of things not in Scripture. Moses said many things not in Scripture. Many things from God are NOT ENSCRIPTURATED, BY HIS DESIGN.
A thousand or 1500 years or 3,000 years post Armageddon . . . God only knows.
It is soooooo welcome and wonderful of God,
that such assertions are sooooooooooooooooooo
THOROUGHLY WRONG!
God bless
:) I know you do as well!
Our bet still stands!
Care to support that with scripture?
Okay....Let me ask you this....You are waiting for someone to come and be the Messiah and you don’t know who it is, but you are still waiting...Correct.....
Okay so if there is World Peace a universal knowledge of GOD, who is going to teach this *Universal Knowledge*? this man you are waiting for? how is he going to accomplish that?
Also let me ask you this...In the Garden of Eden G-D created perfection in human beings, in nature, in animals and he did not command sacrafice....Now are you saying the Same G-D who created *Perfection* in the Garden is now going to command sacrafice (Animal) when the Messiah you await is to bring world peace and perfection in the earth with Universal Knowledge of G-D? where is this written????
What is the need for continue sacrafice? A couple more food for thought questions for you...
1.Do you think this Messiah you await is going to bring more Joy to people that have already found completeness, inner joy and happiness with the Holy Spirit of Christ?
2. Is this Man you await (Messiah) going to die? or does he live forever?
3. Who is going to rule the people of the world when this Man who is Messiah you await comes? Is he going to be the ruler of all mankind? what if mankind tells him to jump off a bridge? what happens to those people?
4. Lastly Blaster- If this Man Messiah you await going to have the ability to take away Man’s Free Will? or are human beings going to lose there G-D given human will and become robot like just obeying and doing GOD’s law based on this Messiah you await?
That’s all for now Blaster!
:)
Okay these questions I have, because after reading what some Jews say about the Messianic Age and the Jewish Messiah (Not Jesus) is going to bring to the world...
THIS IS WHAT IT SAYS....
Olam Ha-Ba: The Messianic Age
The world after the messiah comes is often referred to in Jewish literature as Olam Ha-Ba (oh-LAHM hah-BAH), the World to Come. This term can cause some confusion, because it is also used to refer to a spiritual afterlife. In English, we commonly use the term “messianic age” to refer specifically to the time of the messiah.
Olam Ha-Ba will be characterized by the peaceful co-existence of all people (Isaiah 2:4). Hatred, intolerance and war will cease to exist. Some authorities suggest that the laws of nature will change, so that predatory beasts will no longer seek prey and agriculture will bring forth supernatural abundance (Isaiah 11:6-11:9). Others, however, say that these statements are merely an allegory for peace and prosperity.
OKAY QUESTIONS NOW....
Is Paradise LOST forever? you said Animal Sacrafice needs to continue, that is not what G-D set in motion when he created human beings and a Perfected Earth.. So when does G-D give us Paradise again?
2. Peace and Prosperity?- Do we still need the use of the world’s Monetary System? what kind of Prosperity are they speaking of?
2. In the Olam Ha-Ba, the whole world will recognize the Jewish G-d as the only true G-d, and the Jewish religion as the only true religion (Isaiah 2:3; 11:10; Micah 4:2-3; Zechariah 14:9) OKAY THIS ONE..Why do we need *Religion* if we are going to be all Knowing, living without hate, envy, jealousy, war, if they are non-exsistent..Do we need constant reminders on how to behave by needing (Religion* in our life?
From what I read about the World to Come from Judaism’s Perspective, it sounds like we are still im-perfect human beings still needing to find our way to a far and distant G-D...Maybe I am reading it wrong, but that’s what it sounds like to me..
