Well, according to Jesus it is unprecedented period of trouble that will fall on believers and unbelievers alike and culminate with his return and the gathering of his people to himself after the sons of the evil one have been cleared out of the world.

Well, according to Paul, "For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ". (1 Thess. 5:9). And "For the mystery of iniquity doth already work; only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. AND THEN shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: (2 Thess. 2:6-8).

We are the Dispensation of the Grace of God, not The Dispensation of the Law.
