I don't think Christ in in charge of the diverse communities of faith that broke off as the result of the so-called reformation. The prima facie evidence of that is the abandonment of the scripture that they all are guilty of to one degree or another.

On one hand the Catholics criticize Protestants for sola scriptura, relying on the Bible alone, and on the other hand, are now criticizing for abandoning Scripture.

Not really, his wife was RC and the children were raised RC. Now by the Grace of God his daughter has become a Born Again Christian and his son is a deist, but we are talking.
