One of the failures of Israel has always been evangelism. The Apostles for all their great traits failed in this area and God scattered the Jerusalem church. The church following Pentecost remained focussed on Jews. Peter to his credit admitted this error after being given a revelation in Acts 10:13-15, but Jesus had already converted Paul and sent Anaanius.
Acts 9:15 But the Lord said to him, "Go for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel."
