I don't know of any christians praying for Gog/Magog. Or christians who are actively trying to force the fulfilment of Bible prophecy. But there must be, and by the bazillions, because I keep hearing and reading of them. I guess I just must hang out with just the fringe element, as I have never met any of these others.

I don't "pray" for the fulfilment of Gods prophecy. I watch for it. I don't look forward to a horrible war or 7 years of tribulation. I look forward to seeing with my own eyes Gods fulfilment of his promises, and of his return.

Prophecy wasn't given for us to try on our part to bring to fulfilment. God can and will do that on his own, without anyone elses help. Prophecy was given to us as a warning sign, or in this case a mile marker. We are approching the end of the expressway, Gods telling us how much more to go until then.

And until then we are to be reaching out to the world, not just with the "love" of Christ, but of HIS Good News.

Though I wait with great anticipation, his return he promised, I look for his signs he promised of before his coming, as mile markers.

I believe the same as you stated. I guess it wasn’t as clear as I could have made it. I didn’t mean that it wasn’t important to know of the prophecies, or of the signs that God gave us within the Bible - Old Testament and New! Not at all.

Honestly, I don’t know how you could miss the prayers offered that do contain phrases like, Dear Lord come quickly, though. I read it often here at FR. I just felt ‘led’ to warn people that IMHO those prayers could be interpreted wrongly... While it is true that God knows what is meant by our prayers, and He knows our heart so I have no fear that God won’t understand. I just remember reading last week in my Bible about not praying for the return to come any faster than it should... I will try to find that passage and post it. It may help to convey what I’m trying to explain much better than I’m stating it here (obviously).

Now, I’m not talking about praying for the death and destruction. I don’t know any Christians, or Jews who do that. The ones I have heard speak of praying and CAUSING death and destruction to usher in the End Times are the Islamics who believe the death, destruction and chaos is what will bring about the 12th Imam.

I’m sorry I wasn’t perhaps clear enough that I totally believe in ALL of the prophecies of the Bible. I believe we ARE seeing signs that can definitely be seen in the Bible. I pray we are not in the End Times - that something can still be done, but I obviously know that God alone knows the day and the hour, but gave us signs to be aware of so that we will know the ‘season of his return’.

And, I’m not talking to anyone in particular on this thread, either. So I’m am sorry that you seem to have taken offense to what I said. It certainly wasn’t my intention to mock anyone...

Huh. Me neither. :P

I could not possibly agree more! Folks think it is eagerly awaited - well, yes, in a way it is... Our Redeemer draws nigh!

But it is also sobering - With fear, and trembling... The events which are right around the corner are terrible and grim.

Even if one supposes the rapture comes first before any of it, it is horrifying to see so many souls heading for the most important days of destiny, without the barest clue of what they will soon encounter.

The war of Magog will certainly come - Is this the time? Probably. But no one leaps for joy at the thought of any war - especially one of this magnitude.

AMEN!
