It is not impossible. To my knowledge, you don’t need a temple recommend to submit names for ordinances. And, even if you did, malicious people have lied to get temple recommends before, and have gone into the temple with the express purpose of hurting the Church. Surely, you are aware of those instances.

It is a lot harder then it used to be. And even if they lied, they would still have to be tithing/active members (you can’t really lie about that), so I’m not buying it.
And you still didn’t answer the question, why wasn’t the submission checked before the ordinances were done? Also, there is a record of who performed the ordinances and who submitted them so that should be easy enough to find out.
And surely you are aware of the common lay theology (based upon the teachings of the leadership) that Christ was married and a polygamous. It is just as possible, if not more so, that this was done by a faithful, devoted member.
