"...instead of only wishing to tear down what you have ignorantly designated as evil.“

Oh, no. It’s as evil as the day is long.

It denies the God of the Bible and makes him a man who became God.

You are thinking about later Mormon ideas and reactions to them. The Book of Mormon itself upholds Bible teachings as true.

It also demotes him to one of trillions of gods in the mormonic pantheon of gods.

You are thinking of later Mormon ideas and reactions to them. The Book of Mormon itself teaches that there is only one God.

It denies His son and makes Him into a creature.

You are thinking of later Mormon ideas and reactions to them. The Book of Mormon itself upholds New Testament teachings of and about Christ as true.

It denies the Gospel of Grace and replaces it with works.

You are thinking of later Mormon ideas and reactions to them. The Book of Mormon itself teaches the Gospel of Grace:

"...there is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, save it be through the merits and mercy and grace of the Holy Messiah..." [2 Nephi 1:73, Restored Covenant Edition]

"...relying wholly upon the merits of Him who is mighty to save." [2 Nephi 13:28, RCE]

"...and took away the guilt of our hearts through the merits of His Son." [Alma 14:32, RCE]

"...relying alone upon the merits of Christ who was the author and finisher of their faith." [Moroni 6:5, RCE]

It claims to “restore the Church”, while doing all those things.

The Book of Mormon does not claim to restore the church. Its purpose is clearly stated: "...to the convincing of the Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God, manifesting Himself unto all nations." [Mormoni's preface to the Book of Mormon, RCE] In this purpose it has been successful for many people and will continue to be successful for many people.

Pure evil.

Are you sure of that? You might want to be careful about making such a claim: "And now if there be fault, it be the mistake of men; wherefore, condemn not the things of God, that ye may be found spotless at the judgment seat of Christ." [Mormoni's preface to the Book of Mormon, RCE]

You are thinking about

Reading the mind of another Freeper is a form of "making it personal."

Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.

Indeed it does!

That's why they want you to pray over IT; not the OTHER crap they've put out!

You are thinking of later Mormon ideas and reactions to them. The Book of Mormon itself teaches the Gospel of Grace[John]:

AMPU, I suspect (correct me if I am wrong AMPU) was referring to Mormonism, not just the BoM (which cannot be divorced from Mormonism).

Smith (and others) have called the BoM the 'most correct book', yet you made very clear distinctions and admit that the BoM contradicts Mormon doctrine. How can that be?

The BoM DOES contradict Mormon doctrine and they can't both be right. The BoM plagiarizes greatly from the KJV -including translation errors and words that are NOT in the original languages, i.e. italicized words.

So let's see, according to your above post: +The Book of Mormon itself upholds Bible teachings as true. - Yeah, it even upholds the idea of the Trinity. Go figure. + The Book of Mormon itself teaches the Gospel of Grace - Fail on this one. "For by Grace we are saved AFTER ALL WE CAN DO" - THAT is NOT the Gospel of Grace. Grace plus ANYTHING is no longer Grace. The Book of Mormon itself upholds New Testament teachings of and about Christ as true - So, the BoM teaches Christ is ETERNALLY God and NOT a 'spirit child' (created being)? Has it ever occurred to you that the REASON these Biblical doctrines are in the BoM is because of the plagiarized verses and it was what Smith was taught while growing up and that he changed his mind later when as his theology developed and got weirder? Mormonism claims to have 'restored' the 'church', and the BoM is claimed to contain many 'plain and precious things' that were removed from the Bible. If the Bible is so unreliable (not translated correctly) then why is so much of it copied into the BoM word for word (I can give you specific verses if you wish)? If the BoM, as you claim, restates Biblical doctrine, then what 'plain and precious things' are there? That Christ was a mass murderer(3 Nephi)? AFA - The claim that the BoM's purpose is "...to the convincing of the Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God, manifesting Himself unto all nations." The Bible has been MUCH more successful. The only thing the BoM does is cause people to follow after false gods.

I’ve been away today at family events and saw there was
quite a bit of discussion about my post that identified
mormonism as pure evil.

Thank you to those who stepped up to explain I meant
mormonism and not the book of mormon. I hasten to add that
the doctrines of demons are evil as well - specifically the
BOM.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here is my original post:
Oh, no. It’s as evil as the day is long.
It denies the God of the Bible and makes him a man who became God. It also demotes him to one of trillions of gods
in the mormonic pantheon of gods.
It denies His son and makes Him into a creature.
It denies the Gospel of Grace and replaces it with works.
It claims to “restore the Church”, while doing all those things.
Pure evil.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Just so there is not doubt: mormonism is pure evil.

It inoculates people against the truth by substituting
falsehood.

It substitutes falsehood about:

God
Christ
The Holy Spirit
The Gospel of Grace
The Atonement

AND EVERY OTHER AREA OF CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE AND BELIEF.

The result is a false gospel that isn’t the Gospel of the
Grace of God.

For this reason, millions are going through their works-filled
lives thinking they are pleasing God and on their way to
heaven. They are not. There is nothing about believing
a falsehood that leads you to salvation. The reverse happens -
people are led away from salvation by mormonism, by the
young mormon “missionaries”, and by the evil teachers who
perpetuate this collection of lies. They will bear a heavy
penalty for leading others to hell.

And the terribleness of people missing the grace of the
True God is why the Inmans post on FR. We shout fire to
wake up those who are in the sleep of self-righteousness,
and inoculated against the Gospel of the Grace of God.

best,
ampu

Absolutely. Pure Evil.
