No I’m not saying that... we are talking about entities and if or not they are revealing themselves to us today or not. Some believe what they see are angels...as you mentioned. I asked what scriptures referenced we are to engage converstaion with entities and how does one determine they are angels...with the scripture you might reference.

You mentioned the Angelic announcement...my point is the spirit of God was sent at Pentecost...and now to each who acccepts the finished work of Christ as well. So therefore since Christ himself is within us why would anyone consider engaging angels or even determine if they are an angel...and what scripture would your reference to that.

Christs death and reserrection changed everything of Gods means to communicate with us....we now have him within us via his holy spirit

I’ve tried to raise the consciences of many hereon to remember the Scripture Christ gave about checking . . . does anyone purporting to come from God acknowledge that Christ came in the flesh etc., or not.

Just to be clear....additionally before Christ God used whatever He determined to communicate to people....because the lands at that time were so full of paganism and they believed in the spirits of their False Gods...

God spoke at first directly to man..(Adam)(Noah) (Abraham) etc....then thru the prophets with defined ways for the people to tell the difference between false prophets and those who he truly sent...He also warned against listening and seeking out those who were not from him who channeled spirits... (as Saul did).

Then there were the dark ages where everything was believed of spirits and the means to converse with them was rapid. They don't call them the “dark age” for nothing...darkness truly influenced many of the happenings then.

God's answer for the depravity of man then was He himself would come and live among men thru Christ...and that thru His death, Resurrection, and accession to the right hand of God we would have forgiveness and therefore our position before Him changed completely...He promised not to leave His followers alone...(as prior was the case) but would send us the comforter (His Spirit) which is Himself...

Therefor we now have a direct relationship and access to God...there is no need to go thru anyone else...and that includes angels...there is no need to communicate with God thru other means, although He does love to use people.....additionally we have His written word to confirm what we think He might be telling us or guiding us in. If it opposes Gods word then it is not from Him...period.

....we now have him within us via his holy spirit...

Except that we really can't hear Him talk, or carry on a conversation. Those "others" are making use of that apparent void in people's desire to carry on actual discourse with God.

Maybe the church needs to pursue actual communications with God. Is it possible? We are taught that God hears our prayers. Why then do we not hear the reply? Is there a form of meditation that enables this? We do know that Christ went into the desert to meditate. Any details on what is accomplished there?

The church is woefully lacking in explaining these all-important spiritual matters. That is, sadly, why people seek some sort of fulfillment outside of the church. If the church actually knew something about all of this, they could teach definitively on these matters. Alas, most clergy are truly afraid of actual spiritual matters.

I’m sorry I overreacted and turned the discussion personal in my post to you this morning. I should not have done that. Thanks for your reply and clarification. In my Bible Reading this morning I found several things which you may be interested in from scripture - specifically in the New Testament. I have also gotten a bit of help from a few folks sending me notes as I am NOT a person who can cite chapter and verse as readily as others... Give me a few minutes and I will respond to both of your posts in a more mature way...

So much news to go through on the site, and not enough time. I did want to address some of the things in your second post to me, but it will have to wait a bit. Bear with me, and I’ll answer some of the other subject(s) you brought up in the clarification you sent me.

Perhaps though you should acquaint yourself again with the Book of Acts (of the Apostles). For we know for SURE that the apostles themselves received the indwelling of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. If, as you say, the Holy Spirit replaces all other modes of communication with God, then why did the Apostles still have interaction with Angels?

I will detail what I’m talking about more later, but don’t have the time to get into the specifics at this time. Hopefully I’ll be able to do so later this afternoon.
