False Christs and false prophets can be very persuasive:

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect. - Matt 24:24

But we can discern them by asking as Christ did (paraphrased) Who is Christ?

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that [spirit] of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. - 1 John 4:1-3

Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, [The Son] of David. - Matthew 22:42

That is because no creature can confess that Jesus Christ is the Lord which is to say, that Jesus Christ IS God - except by the Holy Spirit:

Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and [that] no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. – I Cor 12:3

He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed [it] unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. - Matthew 16:15

We Christians must not accept or assist any belief which denies that Jesus Christ is the Lord:

Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into [your] house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. - 2 John 1:9-11

Dear Precious Sister,

I believe that Scripture and test criteria will become a life and death issue increasingly as the END TIMES race on--even an eternal life/death issue.

Scripture is clear that the END TIMES GREAT DECEPTION will be sooooooo GREAT, THAT WERE IT POSSIBLE it would deceive the VERY ELECT OF GOD.

I think it is all toooo human, and particularly American to smugly say to ourselves that I WON'T BE DECEIVED because I'm so brilliant and informed.

TRUSTING IN THE FLESH in that way is a catestrophic danger.

We MUST walk so close to God; become so familiar with HIS VOICE TO US . . . that we KNOW BECAUSE WE KNOW BECAUSE WE KNOW BECAUSE WE KNOW the Voice of our Shepherd and will follow NO other.

And, when the situation calls for it, we must be ready and quick to challenge any pretender with what they believe about Jesus The Christ per the above Scripture you so faithfully cited, Dear Sister. THANKS THANKS.
