7 When you pray, dont babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. 8 Dont be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him! 9 Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, --New Living Translation 7And when you pray, do not heap up phrases (multiply words, repeating the same ones over and over) as the Gentiles do, for they think they will be heard for their much speaking. [I Kings 18:25-29.] 8Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. 9Pray, therefore, like this: 15But if you do not forgive others their trespasses [their [j]reckless and willful sins, [k]leaving them, letting them go, and [l]giving up resentment], neither will your Father forgive you your trespasses. --Amplified Pray with Simplicity 5"And when you come before God, don't turn that into a theatrical production either. All these people making a regular show out of their prayers, hoping for stardom! Do you think God sits in a box seat? 6"Here's what I want you to do: Find a quiet, secluded place so you won't be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace. 7-13"The world is full of so-called prayer warriors who are prayer-ignorant. They're full of formulas and programs and advice, peddling techniques for getting what you want from God. Don't fall for that nonsense. This is your Father you are dealing with, and he knows better than you what you need. With a God like this loving you, you can pray very simply. Like this: 16-18"When you practice some appetite-denying discipline to better concentrate on God, don't make a production out of it. It might turn you into a small-time celebrity but it won't make you a saint. If you 'go into training' inwardly, act normal outwardly. Shampoo and comb your hair, brush your teeth, wash your face. God doesn't require attention-getting devices. He won't overlook what you are doing; he'll reward you well. |

Christ fulfilled the type and made the FINAL sacrifice ..NO more Priesthood is needed as either sign or symbol ...
Well I guess it depends on how you define worship..
Stained glass windows, candles, flowers, kneelers, statues, litanies ,rosaries, bathtub statues in front of your homes, medals, scapulas etc etc..
Tell me Mark how do you define the difference between "veneration and worship?
PS.I was catholic
With her, one does not need God do they ?
>>Is there no limit to the hatred? Is there no limit to the bigotry? Is there no limit to the words that will be used to tear down someone’s beliefs, just because they are not in agreement with protestants? <<
No, because the love us, they belittle us.
“Tell me Mark how do you define the difference between “veneration and worship?”
In Roman Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican, and Lutheran theology, veneration is a type of honor distinct from the adoration due to God alone. Adoration is the worship and homage that is rightly offered to God alone. Veneration is the honor due to the excellence and a created person. This refers to the excellence exhibited by the created being who likewise deserves recognition and honor. We see a general example of veneration in events like the awarding of academic awards for excellence in school, or the awarding of the Olympic medals for excellence in sports. There is nothing contrary to the proper adoration of God when we offer the appropriate honor and recognition that created persons deserve based on achievement in excellence.

“PS.I was catholic “
Not very well instructed though, nor very strong in the Faith. Q.E.D.
“...and there is NO PRIESTHOOD ...”
Methinks thou dost protesteth too much.
I think some words are chosen VERY carefully.
This is the reason why some people think that FR is Anti-Catholic. Because posts like this are allowed to stand. ANY sarcastic post should be swept.
But when the mods let them stand, how does it look?
“Putting Mary in the mix is what makes a mockery of Christianity.”
The Mother of God mocks Christianity. What an odd, pagan thought.
Look at the majority of these threads, or the LDS threads. How much “discussion” goes on through the smarmy comments and laughing graphics?
There are a couple of non-Catholic posters that I respect, that never fall into the stupid stuff. Tons more that have a “we agree to disagree” attitude.
People can fool themselves into thinking that anyone comes onto these threads and converts to their way of thinking. But I can tell you that I’ve pulled people onto FR to see something, then they get into these threads and tell me they will never come back. Which is a shame. FR is a wealth of information, but these threads make us what the MSM says we are.

Please tell me what you think of the pictures below. Are they what you mean by veneration and worship?:
And there are a handful that are flat-out bigots with no redeeming qualities whatsoever. They ARE NOT Christians regardless of what they profess.
I have never seen ONE reply to those photos, and the questions they raise, from a non-Catholic.
NO!
What an odd, hellish pagan syncrisity.
