Would we have thought that was of God, or a product of lust? These are not questions that today’s Mormons ponder often. In fact, most of us have become quite comfortable scorning fundamentalist polygamist Mormons for their “sinful” lifestyles.

From the article: One day, out of the blue, “Brigham Young” appears to C.H. and tells him that the LDS Church has slipped into apostasy and that he, C.H., has been called of God to restore the Gospel. “Brigham” informs C.H. that polygamy must also be restored. “Brigham” leads C.H. to hidden away money in the desert west of Salt Lake City. The angel, using the same type of language as the Prophet Joseph Smith records in Mormon accounts, pushes C.H. to get things rolling. C.H. reluctantly agrees. He manages to convince his skeptical wife, and then follows the angel’s commandment to marry Satan-dabbler Sheila, who perhaps not surprisingly given her personality, accepts C.H.’s offer. Things start to spiral out of control when “Brigham” commands C.H. to take an underage ward teen, Cyndy, as a second plural wife.

underage ward teen...well, that was a direct import...Smith's first plural wife was an underage ward teen living at their house. Even Lds apologists say Smith was sleeping with her by 1831.

It always comes back to the matter of authority. The members of the LDS will believe whatever the Mormon hierarchy tells them to believe. If it comes to believing what you say versus what the Mormon hierarchy says, they will always choose the latter.

I thought you always preached that mormons don't believe in the trinity and that they only believe that Jesus is God? Then how could a 14-year-old boy be "visted by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ"? I think you accidently exposed a constradiction in your zealotry. Doh!

And yet, you are so much more sophisticated that you believe the entire world was populated by two people. And you believe that a guy literally parted the Red Sea or that a baby was born from a virgin. Or maybe you believe we came from monkeys? In the big picture, God visiting a boy ain't very extreme, but the sack you have to make fun of it because it is far fetched, is priceless.

It's funny, the beginnings of Mormonism are so fresh in history. It's amazing so many people fall for the obvious fraud.

Smith claims to have had a 'vision,' but even he calls visions "dreams." Behold, I have dreamed a dream; or, in other words, I have seen a vision. 1 Nephi 8:2

Would you join a religion because of the dreams of a man.

I guess millions of Muslims did.

Speaking of Brigham Young. I found these words speaking across the years from the “profit.” Good grief.....

Some of the Elders seem to be tripped up in a moment, if the wicked can find any fault with the members of this Church; but bless your souls, I would not yet have this people faultless, for the day of separation has not yet arrived. I have many a time, in this stand, dared the world to produce as mean devils as we can; we can beat them at anything. We have the greatest and smoothest liars in the world, the cunningest and most adroit thieves, and any other shade of character that you can mention. We can pick out Elders in Israel right here who can beat the world at gambling, who can handle the cards, cut and shuffle them with the smartest rogue on the face of God’s foot-stool. I can produce Elders here who can shave their smartest shavers, and take their money from them. We can beat the world at any game. We can beat them, because we have men here that live in the light of the Lord, that have the Holy Priesthood, and hold the keys of the kingdom of God. But you may go through all the sectarian world, and you cannot find a man capable of opening the door of the kingdom of God to admit others in. We can do that. We can pray the best, preach the best, and sing the best. We are the best looking and finest set of people on the face of the earth, and they may begin any game they please, and we are on hand, and can beat them at anything they have a mind to begin. They may make sharp their two-edged swords, and I will turn out the Elders of Israel with greased feathers, and whip them to death. We are not to be beat. We expect to be a stumbling block to the whole world, and a rock of offense to them.”
