Nifonging the Catholic Church
me ^ | April 18, 2010 | vanity

Posted on 04/18/2010 9:49:35 PM PDT by Judith Anne

I seriously wonder about some FReepers, sometimes. Any other person accused of a crime would be defended by every FReeper as being innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. I've seen whole threads written by men who have been accused of child abuse by ex-wives out to deny them their visitation rights or to wrest more money out of them. These men are rightly indignant, and furious about the unjust accusations that cannot be proven but are never withdrawn.

Yet where are those FReepers when a PRIEST is accused? Where is the presumption of innocence? Suddenly, every accusation becomes a verdict, and not only the accused but his entire organization and all its adherents are held responsible.

I can only wonder what some of these so-called conservatives (who so faithfully defend the Constitution) would do, if THEY were the ones accused! It is a nightmare for any man -- all of you know how even the accusation stains the man forever, even if it is proven false!

Not only that, many here assert that the problems of 30, 40 and even 50 years ago must be tried in the media TODAY!

Remember the Duke rape case? There are more similarities than differences here. The priests are accused, nifonged, and instead of being defended, they are vilified!

What other man of you could stand under the weight of such an accusation trumpeted by the press, and come out whole? None! And such accusations made, LONG after the statute of limitations has passed, sometimes even after the accused is dead and buried for YEARS -- are YOU one of those who automatically, reflexively, spitefully, and gleefully act as judge, jury, and executioner?

Women! What if it were YOUR HUSBAND, YOUR BROTHER, YOUR FATHER, YOUR UNCLE, YOUR SON who was accused? Wouldn't you want the best defense possible? Wouldn't YOU believe in their innocence? Wouldn't YOU help protect your loved ones as much as possible? And yet, YOU JUDGE THE CHURCH FOR DOING WHAT YOU WOULD DO?

Shame! Vast shame! On all who have sinned against the innocent!

"Roughly 10 to one. lol"

And since Catholics and Catholic Clergy outnumber the entire membership of your cult by about 100,000,000 to 1 and the MSM and its useful idiots in the press have an organized campaign against the Catholic Church I will take that as exculpatory.

Mary, the Mother of God, was prettier than you, nicer than you, holier than you, and happier than you

Well thank you Stuart Smalley.

You claim zero. Hardly. Nor does the evidence support your lie that the majority of priests are pederasts. Nice to know you claim to be a member of a recognized sect, odd that you hid from that so long, why?

"Is that your excuse? RCs don't know?"

Ignorance is the purvue of the OPC.

Your defenses continue to dazzle. Anything to deflect the blame where it belongs -- on Rome.

My church does not have pedophile pastors. If my church did discover such sin, it would report it to the police.

Roman Catholic apologists are absolutely blinded to the corruption of the papacy.

Obviously, they like it that way.

“My church does not have pedophile pastors.”

How many ‘pastors’ are you claiming?

Do not accuse another Freeper of telling a lie because that term suggests the intent to decieve. It is attributing motive and therefore "making it personal."

Words like "false" "wrong" "inaccurate" "misleading" are not "making it personal."

You can say that all you want, but the truth is written in black and white and it comes straight from Rome.

What do Roman Catholic apologists think they're accomplishing by denying the sins of their priestcraft? Do they think children will be safer? Will the congregation trust its church more?

Or will other RCs and the rest of the world recognize the papacy for what it is -- a place where homosexuals and pederasts are housed, nourished and protected?

Just because you’re blind to that fact does not mean I hid anything. Apparently you haven’t paid attention.

God's Spirit illuminating his truth of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

Odd. That's what the Church teaches.

Yes, I agree, but...only lip service is paid to the "by grace through faith" part. This religion also adds man's good works, his obedience to the rituals of The Church, his own suffering payment for the "temporal" punishment due his sins in a mythical place called "Purgatory" and all other requirements necessarily imagined and demanded by whatever the hierarchy decides God has revealed to them outside of His words of scripture. Thus, one cannot - and, by design, shouldn't - have a real assurance of salvation since, up until the moment of death, no "t" cannot be crossed nor "i" not dotted. One is left to only "hope" he did it all right. This, to me, completely misses the entire meaning of the word GRACE and wholly discounts the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for us on the cross.

Romans 4:4-6

Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt.

But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness,

just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works:

That is why "gospel" means "GOOD NEWS"!!!

This statement is “false”, “wrong”, “inaccurate” and “misleading”.
