Its not the church that is responsible...IT'S THE HOMOSEXUALS IN THE CHURCH!!

Thank goodness Pope Benedict XVI has courageously identified the "filth" in the Church and targeted its removal. The world (particularly the liberal bed-wetting media) hates him for speaking the truth about homosexuality to their 'power'. Yes, there were priests and bishops who abetted homosexuals in the Church. Yes, there were priests and bishops who attempted cover-ups. But there is a new 'sheriff' in town and homosexuals in the priesthood are no longer tolerated.

Here's a first person account which not only corrects the false reporting in the NYT, Fr. Thomas T. Brundage, JCL also sets the record straight regarding Pope Benedict XVI:

Pope Benedict XVI has done more than any other pope or bishop in history to rid the Catholic Church of the scourge of child sexual abuse and provide for those who have been injured ...

To any gays, I say such rage is unbecoming. I am reminded the way the bodysnatchers bayed at normal people in the film!

If only he were younger and less gentle. The way they spoke(speak) of this gentle scholar as the pope’s Rotweiler was(is) so wrong.

this gentle scholar ...

You are so right. What an apt description of the man. I have had the privilege of being an arm's length away from him in Rome and about twenty rows away in the National's ballpark for his Washington, D.C. visit.

It’s a shame that the NY Times gets any credibility, and the national tv news reports their stories, rather than doing their own research.

Let’s expose the NYTimes for their sloppy “journalism” or downright lies (from link in OP):

“—sources were those the Times cited in a story claiming that, as cardinal prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith [CDF], Joseph Ratzinger, later Benedict XVI, had prevented sanctions against Father Lawrence Murphy, a diabolical Milwaukee priest who, decades before, had abused some 200 deaf children in his pastoral care.

This was simply not true, as the legal papers from the Murphy case the Times provided on its Web site demonstrated (see here for a demolition of the Times’ case based on the documentary evidence it made available). The facts, alas, seem to be of little interest to those whose primary concern is to nail down the narrative of global Catholic criminality, centered in the Vatican.”
