Am I the ONLY one who read a report in my local paper years ago that the psychiatrists told the Catholic church that pedophiles could be treated and cured, and the Church believed the psychiatrists and sent their wayward priests to get treatment? Obviously, the psychiatrists years later reversed their findings and the Church took the blame.
The founding principle of the Catholic Church is the redemptive powers of Christ. Through faith in Christ no sin is unforgivable and no sinner is beyond salvation. Those who claim to be Christian yet condemn the Church for practicing this faith are hypocrites.
No, I have read this before too, and repeatedly recounted it to those who wish to villify those in Church leadership for their original strategy of " treatment, retreat and reassignment".
It doesn't seem to do any good; I suspect because those who wish to denegrate the Church have, by definition, no desire to give the Church the benefit of the doubt.
No, you're not the only one who knows that. I know it, and a lot of other people who are interested in the truth know it.
People who blather about this topic, and are unaware of the facts you mentioned, tell us a lot about themselves. None of it is good.
