The way I see it - if all those books that 'scholars' say are 'missing' from the Bible you'd have something so ponderous it would be hard to pick out God's message(s) to us. So I've always said that the Bible is basically a reference book and if you want to read more in a book that was mentioned in it, then go to that book and read it. All we need for our faith is summed up in the Bible as it is.
I always see references to the Bible in Mormon literature to prove a point but nowhere do I see the Bible mentioning the Book of Mormon to prove itself ....
