I think annalex was onto something when he said or suggested or reminded me or something that it's about ordered appetites. Our minds and our will are no longer clouded and hindered by appetites and sin.
But the other thing that is holding me up is the strict sense of passion as something "suffered." I don't mean painful, I mean something that happens to one. I mean technically, passion, patient, passive -- all the same root concept.
But in terms of enthusiasm, complete self-investment, well that's another sense and I don't think we lose that. I think we get more of it.
