This is silly, but circles are also flat. SPHERES are the set of points in three dimensions all equidistant from a given point, while circles are the set of points in TWO dimensions (r.e. FLAT) all equidistant from a given point.

Amazing the amount of basic geometry Catholics have to teach Protestants.

we ARE on a tangent, but I would point out:
1. Circles are two dimensional -- there is no mention of a 3-D sphere
2. The Bible does NOT tell us that the earth is NOT roud -- even the inference of "east to west" can be taken as a metaphor, not as proof that the Bible said the earth is flat
3. If you stand in the middle of a flat desert and look around, it does look like the earth is one big circl around you
4. Islam, on the other hand, has CLEAR words in the Hadiths that say that the earth is flat. And since it is in the Hadiths, it is haram to say otherwise. This is not true of Christianity, where the Bible doesn't say anything directly about the flatness or non-flatness :) of the earth.
