Catholics and all authentic Christians bow to statues of saints. Not to statues in general. That is because we believe in Redeeming God Who alone put His saints in Heaven and praise Him. Those who don’t, practice the lying art of accusations instead of getting themselves a true religion, or at least a plausible one.
Leviticus 26:1 - Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.
Only because they represent a focus point and symbol for the actual saint. Prayers offered to saints are intercessory, that is they ask the saint to pray to God, the one source of salvation and goodness. This is no different than asking our living friends and family to pray for us or for another.
“Catholics and all authentic Christians bow to statues of saints.”
So anyone who doesn’t bow to statues of saints isn’t authentically Christian, and is destined to hell? Or, are false Christians to be saved?
I didn’t think that was Catholic doctrine...guess I’m in deep doo-doo, then!
So that's what you say...So let's compare what you say to what the God of my salvation says:
Exo 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
Exo 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God,
And you say we should all come and join your religion??? Why would any person in his right mind want to do that after learning that God has condemned those people that do the things you do???
