If man is capable of exercising his will to make decisions, what is the purpose of God?

To be the Creator of all that is, and the Savior of all creation. Duh!

Anyway, the purpose of God is none of our business. He told us what to do. We either do it or not, as we choose. We are commanded to love Him, and our neighbor. But His purposes are His purposes, and we are only human, how could we possibly understand?.

Oh, and may St. Mary, ever-virgin, bless you.

I don't think so. If God wants us to do something, we'll do it. Jonah found that out.

Oh, and may St. Mary, ever-virgin, bless you.

And contrary to some writers, Mary did not remain a virgin and, while I respect her, it isn't her blessing I'm interested in.

Mat 1:24-25 When Joseph woke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him: he took his wife, but knew her not until she had given birth to a son. And he called his name Jesus.

Joh 2:12 After this he went down to Capernaum, with his mother and his brothers and his disciples, and they stayed there for a few days.

Joh 7:5 For not even his brothers believed in him. Joh 7:6 Jesus said to them, "My time has not yet come, but your time is always here.... Joh 7:10 But after his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he also went up, not publicly but in private.
