The dead do not answer your prayers.

It's paganism to believe anyone other than the Triune God deserves your prayers, let alone answers them.

"And the residue thereof he maketh a god, even his graven image: he falleth down unto it, and worshippeth it, and prayeth unto it, and saith, Deliver me; for thou art my god.

They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.

And none considereth in his heart, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh, and eaten it: and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? shall I fall down to the stock of a tree?

He feedeth on ashes: a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand?" -- Isaiah 44:17-20

No wonder the RCC ignores the Old Testament. The OT condemns its idolatry.

I suggest an experiment. Every time a Roman Catholic feels compelled to fall to his knees in prayer to a graven image he should instead pray to Jesus Christ.

See what happens. See if his mind and heart are filled more by Christ and less by the creation -- something we are all supposed to strive for every day.

"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." -- 2 Corinthians 4:5-6

Jesus Christ's face is the glory of God. Pray for God to shine the light of this knowledge in your heart.

The dead do not answer your prayers.

They're not dead.

No wonder the RCC ignores the Old Testament.

The next step for that Rabid Calvinist Cult is to embrace the Old Testament. All of it (hint: you'll need a non-redacted bible).

The Catholic Church condemns it, and as I recall, an order of nuns in Quebec were formally excommunicated for doing so.

You're simply not describing the Catholic Church.

I suggest an experiment. Every time a Raving Calvinist feels compelled to lie about the Catholic Church she should instead pray to Jesus Christ for the strength to stop violating Exodus 20:16.

1) You fail to understand the difference between prayer and worship. When you have dealt with your ignorance we can resume an intelligent discussion.

2)I don't know what the RCC (Raving Calvinist Cult) believes or not, but the Catholic Church does not ignore the Old Testament. It does recognize that it was fulfilled in the Resurrection of Christ and replaced with a New and Everlasting Covenant. It now provides clarity and context to the Gospel of Christ.

The dead don't answer our prayers -- they pray to God for us. God answers the prayers.

And, repeating ad nauseum, in The Church, we don’t pray TO an image. We believe the image, the statue etc. to be just inanimate pieces of wood, stone, clay. They are not God
