I just witnessed a couple of Orthodox posters get kicked off a "Catholic Caucus" thread. I thought, despite their differences, they had a mutual understanding that each sect was considered "Catholic". Are not the Orthodox considered Catholic? Why do the Romanists get to monopolize the term "Catholic"?
I consider myself to be Catholic being a part of the universal church of Christ. Why should one sect be able to use a universal concept to identify themselves in a caucus thread while other Christian denominations need to use specific qualifiers to identify themselves in a caucus thread?
“What about the threat—the direct, ongoing, palpable threat—to TRUTH that these lies about the Catholic Church represent?”
But I don’t blieve anyone on these threads actually hates Catholics or your ministers.
Actually if a scholar says he can see the original Greek, he's not a scholar after all...
I am not a Rambo. I only speak as I know with justification from Scripture and the Catechism. I do not seek justification from multicoloured and multifonted hysterical websites (or blogs) of any stripe. I defer to God; I do not try to make Him defer to me. Apparently y'all just can't leave your Protestant roots behind...
I have no Protestant roots.
They call that paranoia...
What I believe to be true about the Catholic Church?
There is only one truth.
Enemies of the Catholic Church do not get to decide what Catholics believe.
Satan is the father of all lies.
Who is this "they?" A group of people who don't know what "paranoia" means?
It's not paranoia when the hatred and the lies are real.
Who did Jesus teach and preach to??? Did Jesus come to save the lost sheep of the, Gentiles???
What group of people did Jesus tell the Jews NOT to preach to???
Who told the apostle Paul to preach a Gospel of Grace??? Or did Paul make it up???
But ya, here's my favorite verse...
Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour enough and are heavy laden, and I will sell you rest.
Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and work very hard; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall buy rest unto your souls.
Mat 11:30 For my yoke is expensive, and my burden is not light.
I acknowledged my silly error and corrected it and gave attribution to Eusebius...
That's it...You hate Protestants...And their children...And their dogs...And the cars they drive...And I'm tellin'
Iscool, you wrote:

So, are you saying we have no reliable copies of scripture? By default that IS what you’re implying even if unintentionally.
Very good, thanks for posting.
Well, it doesn't matter how anyone feels, it matters what Christ our Lord and Savior commanded.
So! I hope you are ready for my prayers!
You know what we have and what we don't have...Originals do not exist...
The Majority Texts with thousands of manuscripts, whole and in part, which agree over 95% of the time and over the course of centuries gives the best witness...
The Catholic manuscripts total less than 250 manuscripts and they disagree with each other thousands of times...That's a lousy witness...Some of your major manuscripts have be written on, written over, erased with personal notes all over them, it's impossible to tell their source or authenticity...
The earliest church fathers almost exclusively quoted the texts that are used for the KJV even tho your texts were supposedly floating around at the same time...
And then, some of us believe God when he said he would preserve his words forever...And then again, there is the spiritual witness in the whole operation...
Those manuscripts that make up the Received Texts originated in and around Antioch, Syria (not Turkey)...This is where the Apostles hung around and built many churches...
No Apostles were in Egypt where your bibles originate from...
This just barely touches the information in the issue...And it's pretty compelling for me...
I'll take prayers from any body...
Ya know, you're the first Catholic on FR that I have observed calling Jesus Christ her/his Savior...And I believe you when you say that...
I'm trying to figure out how in the world you ever got hooked up with the Catholic religion....
You must have gotten saved while you were a Protestant...
Your powers of observation are not exactly keen.
I was never a protestant. My mother was Jewish and my father nothing.
I became Catholic in my 30s, due to the influence of a nun with whom I was doing volunteer work— she was very well educated, wore a habit, and lived her vows.
My many brothers and sisters have come into a large spectrum of beliefs, from Mormon, to Presbyterian, to Evangelical, to nothing, to Jewish. Along the way, I fell in love with, of all things, country gospel music...even though my husband was a classically educated musician.
I know lots of protestants, and have shared their worship services. None of them act like the protestants here.
I learned to call Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior from the nun who basically taught me, not the Catechism, but how she lived HER faith. She’s the one who got me into RCIA, and I have loved the Church ever since.
PS, I don’t see many apparent protestants using Christ’s Holy Name, either. I suspect it’s not a habit with most people, but my salvation is my salvation, and I do what I do.
LOL! I've noticed, but Jesus Christ, the Risen Son of the Almighty I AM, died for iscool also. I don't know why, none of my business, but I suspect He loves the little dickens.
Who did Jesus teach and preach to??? Did Jesus come to save the lost sheep of the, Gentiles???
You still claim to follow Jesus, the Christ. Jesus came to save the whole world. Jew and Greek (Gentile) alike. Post a little more Jesus and we shall possibly have less divergence.
Very good. My NAB says that: Matt 11: 28 15 "Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, 16 and I will give you rest. 29 17 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for your selves. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden light."
We diverge once again.
You mean that Eusebius made your error? Would you please tell me what post it was?

Original MSS. I said original wording. Mss. is different from wording. I already pointed that out.
If you don’t know the original wording with some degree of certainty then you can’t call the text reliable.
So, again, I ask are you saying we have no reliable copies of scripture? By default that IS what youre implying even if unintentionally.
